I'm good as long as people don't even TRY imposing their opinions and POVs on me. That's the only way this thread is going to thrive.

will ahmir be privy to gab's mission? if not, my hart breyks for my dem olredeeee! haha!

guessing gab's stint in the military will distance him from his hometown/bff/family so they won't see each other for some years. and that gab getting the assignment to go undercover will likely have to do with being well versed with muslim culture having been bosom buddies w/ ahmir growing up. baka mala donnie brasco magiging ganap nito pag nagkita uli ang prenship! ahmir being the al pacino-like character fully embracing the now "muslim" gab, and defending him against folks casting aspersions on gab's motives, gab being the johnny depp-like character who's haunted everyday with having to lie to his friend. i mean really, every minute of his undercover life is active betrayal, just a matter of choice between betraying duty or friendship. and maybe like donnie, over time, gab will grow attached to his pretend life more (op kors, nadi will have a lot to do with it). safegaurding his identity will likely evolve from protecting his mission to protecting these folks he's come to care for very much. the truth about him alone will hurt them for sure.

whatever the case, so far, the scoop from this show = delish!

    kylie's getting supportive tweets.

dd's muslim malaysian fans are delighted at the teaser photo of "muslim" dd and kylie. bagay daw, sana tulyang mag convert, hehe. (they're majorly a muslim country tho, unlike pinas where the christian majority-muslim minority dynamic has more of a tense undercurrent so attempts at a show with that sewn into the story get folks anxious).

fwiw, saw the unang chika report on the storycon. they're emphatic about knowing this is a heybiiii and maselan subject, so i think they're very mindful and likely employing a lot of researchers and consultants.

    Dingdong magpapanggap na muslim
ABOUT SHOWBIZ Ni Nitz Miralles (Pilipino Star Ngayon)

I love that name too, Gabriel. My nephew's name is Gabriel. Of course pronounced the American way, with a nickname Gabe

Bromance front-and-center. The Soap Fairies heard your plea.

I just hope they handle the trope better than the logic-defying Makapiling Kang Muli (been catching up on it and let me tell you: ). It shouldn't be just a simple case of misunderstanding then *poof,* they're mortal enemies. I'd like the change to happen organically, gradually, with a lot of small issues piling up until the damage to their friendship is virtually (but not absolutely) irreparable.

You're so precious when you turn into speculation mode. And most likely you'll be right.

DD has Muslim Malaysian fans? This is brand new information. Congrats. Nice to hear we've got some pull on the foreign market.

The Muslim community will likely be watching very closely, though. I'll be seeing it first-hand here in Tandang Sora near the Salaam(?) Mosque.

I adore how Ayen is featured on so many GMA soaps, especially the big productions. She's always a good idea.

YES, Dingdong and Marian are practically royalty in Malaysia. Not just Malaysia, pretty much South East Asia, and Africa.

It all started with Marimar which is now getting its 3rd(I think) replay. When Endless Love started airing, EL trended from beginning to end. Dingdong and Marian were invited to visit Malaysia but Marian was too busy getting her sitcom Tweets For My Sweet on the ground so only Dingdong was able to go. He did a round of events while there for like 4 days I think.

As soon as Endless Love finished, they started to replay Dyesebel, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, and Marimar, again .. and then they bought AMAYA and My Beloved faster than GMA 7 can say chaching*

I have a feeling they'll snatch the rights to HARAM and Temptation of Wife remake really fast too

not to mention, Darna will also be airing in Malaysia too!! wow

I think, Marian is the only PINOY Actress who had her Primetime Soaps (Marimar-MyBeloved) sold in different countries in Asia and Africa!! indeed, the Asian Primetime Queen!!
