And La Salle is so jealous right now as you can see from the bitter pseudo UST posters. Theirs is just four-peat with an accompanying forfeit. Their very own attempt at 5 stopped dead on its track by none other than Ateneo. And their only chance at stopping this phenomenon (pun intended) went naught when they and their supposedly super rookie choked in the semis. If you don't call this dynasty, I don't know what is. Grats Ateneo. What championship poise. You're the best! Ateneo, OBF! On to the barbecue party!

I honestly think that the series really could've gone either way skillwise. The eagles showed that championship experience was an edge. They won not because the other team was less talented, they won because of the poise they've developed in the previous finals games they played, and because they had the greater desire to give Norman black, Nico salva and the rest of the seniors the best parting gift they could give. In this game, no one stood out taller than the rest, it was a team effort. They showed that they were worthy of a fifth title.

The tigers played a great game, and that's an understatement. As they did in their previous meetings, they gave the champions a run for their money. So chins up boys! Special mention to Jeric Fortuna who I think showed a lot of heart and composure in this game.

ONE BIG FIGHT! See you at the bonfire!

This is the time to make peace.

First, the 5 peat was made even sweeter because it couldn't have come from a much worthier contender. Equal in strength and a deserving opponent to protect its own 4-peat record and to hold off Ateneo's own history and record in the making. Hats off to UST. They gave it all. If I were to rate the 5 titles of Ateneo in the order of difficulty I'd rate this series second and next to the first title, against DLSU which to me was the hardest. Next was 2010 where Ateneo wasn't even given a chance in the finals after being swept by FEU in the eliminations. Fourth is the UE series (even tho that was the only series that went the distance at 3 games, the games then were 'tambakan' blues). Last was last year's finals where FEU, after a grueling semis vs AdU, didn't have anything left in the finals.

At any rate, when I saw Pido finally shaking hands with NB, and even embracing him, I knew then that the first game tantrums were because of the pressure and tension of the finals. When dust settled, I'm sure deep in him, they couldn't have lost to a worthier team. Congratulations too Coach Pido for a good championship series. Your team will be a force until next year. And to the UST spectators in attendance, class act. They learned from their mistake last time. They were respectful. There were claps during and after the Alma Mater hymns. And there was respect on and for both sides. Good job supporting your school. And in a way, I tip my hats off to your sports program and basketball in particular because you have remained in F4 (save for a couple you missed) and a force to contend with even though you don't enjoy a transparent and visible patron. Ateneo has just lost its own, and where it will go from now as far as its basketball program is concerned, only time will tell.

And to Ateneo and Coach NB, what can I say, the cycle is complete. Congratulations and we are very thankful that you have brought pride to our school for half a decade. This one is for the books. We wish you more success in the PBA. To Nico, Justin, and Zags who will be graduating this year. Savor this. It will be a long tme before any player in the UAAP can boast again of the distinction of having won Championships throughout their 5 college years. Congratulations!

In parting, if in S74 it was "May the Fourth be with you", S75 One Big Five, next year it will be tough. But I'm confident Poy and another one (secret lol) will be able to hold their own against the rising talents in the center position. And it will give the contenders next year --- NU (if Parks returns), DLSU, FEU, and specially UST (with most of its roster intact) --- a run for their money. Still here goes --- Seek Sixth in 76! Don't end here^^ Winning is addicting. Ateneo OBF!

Just came from the thanksgiving mass. It was most poignant. In time to catch the replay. Ateneo, Bonfire na on Saturday! Peace to each and everyone.

The article was a gimmick of spot.ph. There was an Ateneo better than La Salle version that came out simultaneous to it.

back to topic...kung hindi lang sa last play ng UST, they have a chance to force OT; or doon na lang sa FTs nila, dun sila natalo.

    Congrats Ateneo.

UST has an incredible amount of talent but Pido just can't utilize the players effectively. There's not much ball rotation and the players seem to be making their own plays on the spot. Most of the time the players end up making three point attempts.

Leo Austria's one heck of a coach. I'd even prefer Leo Austria to coach the Blue Eagles over Bo Perasol.

Rumors have it that Bo Perasol will be a Maroon consultant. So yes hopefully it's Leo Austria for us next season.

I actually don't mind Sandy as our next coach. I think he is ripe already.
