Inappropriate Posts

I don't get to read all the posts in this bulletin board even in the UAAP Forum and so far I haven't deleted any posts... But lately, there have been some posts that really either have nothing to do with the subject matter or posts that are intended as ill advised insults towards others.

I want us to have a healthy meaningful discussion about the UAAP games, not an exchange of verbal and physical threats.

As my responsibility as moderator, I will start deleting the posts that I deem innapropriate from now on.

I'm sure Kaboom will practice the same restraint as Nix and I have. However, indecent and vulgar posts as well as those that demean and provoke - esp. with no other reason than to insult - will be removed. Your asides as far as I remember have none of the above qualities so Kaboom will probably leave them in. Then again, you'll have to ask him yourself.

I'd like to add something: Would that mean that even the "most abused" word --- PEACE --- be more closely scrutinized? I have seen dozens of useless threats, & vulgar language, only to find the most ironic word in the dictionary used in the end to exempt the writer from future, untoward threats. (Or whatever reason they have up their sleeve...)

I sure do hope people learn how to use the word appropriately.

benz: the thing with net communication is that u can't really observe the writer's mood ... maybe those who use peace really mean it ... & then maybe those who appear to agree with ur views could be writing so in sarcasm {except that they're not good at letting their real meaning show through] ... *shrug* we'll never know, right?

I don't have standards in mind and it will take a lot for a post to be deleted but when physical threats, and personal insults go overboard, I'll take it out.

There have been some obvious posts that are obviously not constructive at all. I'm all for good heated discussions but nothing that will escalate into anything physical or even verbal abuse.

And... writing "peace" does not excuse the rest of the post. Just be more responsible everyone and don't take things personally.

isn't there anything in the program that will automatically change cuss words to, i don't know, pray? or a smiley? that would take a big load off ur shoulders (& eyes, & fingers, & wrist ) ... can u imagine how bewildered the bad boys & girls would be?

I agree with dudutt and eternity, especially eternity. Sa UST post that was mentioned I tried to pacify fellow Lasallian Smiley from making derogatory comments, because it doesn't speak well of a Lasallian but instead I got a venomous reply (insults, threats). This P-ex shouldn't be used as a tool for creating animosity among the members.

deyn ba claro sa'yo yan? That's just what I did, bro! I didn't intend it to go out of hand and reek of insult and encourage counter bashing from Pex members. To begin with, NOBODY (no, not the nobody here) should have said that about La Sallians being this and that. Para walang counter bashing! The insults did not begin here. Reaction lang ito sa mga insults that, naturallemente, came from non-Lasallians!

Like I've posted, it'll take a lot for me to delete posts. I actually intentionally leave some posts even when they seem inappropriate just to let everyone decide if ever someone is being uncouth and continuing to embarass themselves and even the institution they belong to.

EZ lang kayo... the season is 3 months away and I can feel blood beginning to boil already.
