History
Party Pilipinas is an "all-party and all-positive vibes" show, according to the Corporate Communications Department of GMA Network and the show's new production manager, Ruth Mariñas. Mariñas takes over the post of Ramel David, who in turn replaced Hazel Abonita. Through an interview via Chika Minute in 24 Oras, Ogie Alcasid stated that Party Pilipinas will circle the entire country and hopefully the whole world. The show premiered on March 28, 2010 replacing the defunct SOP Fully Charged, a former Sunday afternoon party of the same timeslot. After 13 years of airing, the former show bid goodbye due to low ratings against the rival show in ABS-CBN, ASAP. Teasers started to come out on commercial with the slogan, "The grandest and hippest party in Philippine television has finally landed on GMA - Party Pilipinas!"
The four main hosts of SOP Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Jaya are retained, along with the R&B Royalties Kyla and Jay-R, plus, La Diva.In addition, ASAP former performers Rachelle Ann Go and Mark Bautista, both Viva artists also joined the Asia's party capital.
Louie Ignacio left the show after the April 25 episode, due to unknown reason. It was temporarily directed by Rommel Gacho from May 2 to the May 23 episode. Soon after, two directors replaced Ignacio, namely Mark A. Reyes and Rico Gutierrez.

On June 17, 2012, Direk Rico Gutierrez has returned to direct Party Pilipinas overall, starting with Party Pilipinas: Believe episode.
I'd like to share my thought about some posts here. I believe that this Group was created to hear the ideas and opinions of PP fans for the purpose of improving the show. I'd like to call the attention of those who, at times, tend to be disrespectful and seem too demanding when expressing their thoughts. We need not put other artists down as well as their respective fans just to pressure Direk and some PP people concerned to give in to your "requests." It is undeniable that we would always like to give the spotlight to our own favorite PP artists but still, Direk RG and the rest of PP's creative staff have the final say as to the things that could really elevate PP to greater heights. Please keep in mind that it would be much nicer if we convey our thoughts with utmost decency and respect. Shouldn't we all be happy and grateful for the fact that the people behind PP are open to "fan suggestions"?
Mayroon tayong freedom of expression. WE are a TEAM here.
No comparison of Directors because we are one big happy family therefore we don't need to fight one another. Good vibes at all time and please resist on making fights with the rival show because Party Pilipinas viewers are all matured and professional people. - Aubrey Anne Dela Cruz
A reply to a recent post here. Yes, it is undeniable that the show is designed to provide us, PP followers with enjoyment and satisfaction however, we cannot easily generalize that the complaints posted here are a "statistical" representation of the viewers' perception of the show. Sometimes, it's non sequitur. Some followers may not be as aggressive and belligerent in conveying their thoughts about their fave artist's exposure. Disputes mainly arise from indecent and disrespectful ways of airing grievances. Wala namang awayan kung magiging maayos ang pakikipagpalitan ng opinyon dito sa New OpinionAided. Like what I said, PP staff and GMA management themselves have their respective reasons for the exposure they allocate for each artist. So guys, let's just come up with creative suggestions and stop bickering. Pulling other artists down will eventually pull PP down. We are a team here. So, instead of harboring animosity, let's divert our attention to and spend our energy for coming up with ingenious "REQUESTS" and "SUGGESTIONS." Put PP at the top! - Jen Villa Franca
We’re given a privileged to have OA to raise our suggestions and opinions, and I hope you agree with me that most our requests were granted, but along with this privilege is a responsibility to have a constructive criticism to anything PP will offer. We don’t want to have a rift between fans and the PP artists just to be heard.
Concerning Imbalance exposure, DRG stated and I quote:
“How do i explain this. We build our artists as "brands", may time lahat yan. We study their strengths and try to improve their skills and motivate them to their maximum potential. Its good for them as performers and good for us (PP) and ...ULTIMATELY for YOU guys our viewer. Now, its Frencheska's turn. Let's embrace her like we will embrace your favorite artists, because sooner or later, their time will come and you don't want people to bash on them. I understand your sentiments.– Direk Rico Gutierrez
Where can you find a director that will give time to read all our sentiments and even answer in this polite manner? - Jendy Asuncion
Please just continue posting your comments here when im gone. Let them know what you think, at least na paalam ninyo or nasabi ninyo, that's the most important thing. Pero pakiusap ko, no more bashing of PP talents. Let's support them. I love you guys, sincerely. - Rico Gutierrez

Velasquez released an album under Universal Records entitled Fantasy, a 2CD album containing 22 tracks. Fantasy also has two sets of packaging that every collector should have – one colored and one in black and white featuring Regine in rare and never-before-seen photos as taken by the lens of top photographer Mark Nicdao. Each box-set contains 10 sets of post-cards that are in color and in black and white. Fantasy was awarded a Gold Record award in just two weeks of it's release. Making it one of the fastest selling albums of 2010 in Philippine albums history.
Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid announced their engagement at Party Pilipinas on August 8, 2010 after 7 years. By December 22 of the same year, Velasquez married long-time partner Ogie Alcasid in Terrazas de Punta Fuego in Nasugbu Batangas.
In April 2011, she and her husband confirmed the news of her pregnancy through the same afternoon-variety show, Party Pilipinas.
In November 8, 2011, Velasquez gave birth to her and husband Ogie Alcasid's first born, Nathaniel James Velasquez Alcasid at the Makati Medical Center.
After her nine-month career break, Velasquez made her official comeback in her Sunday variety show Party Pilipinas on 12 February 2012. Along with co-hosts Jaya, Rachelle Ann Go, Kyla and Jonalyn Viray, Velasquez did an impromptu/unrehearsed performance to give tribute to one of their biggest music influences, American singer Whitney Houston who died hours before the show started. Velasquez sang a medley of Houston's hits such as All the Man That I Need, The Greatest Love of All and I Will Always Love You together with the other singers who also gave a tribute.[69] Prior to her performance, Velasquez gave testimony on the influence Ms Houston made on her, "The songs of this diva shaped and inspired the singer that I am today, to commemorate her, this is my tribute to Whitney Houston" "I’m deeply saddened by her passing. She influenced me, especially when I was just starting. I’m a fan and will always be one. Rest in peace, Ms Houston..".
As the part of her comeback, Velasquez had a concert together with her husband Ogie Alcasid entitled Mr. & Mrs. A which held last February 14, 2012 (Valentines Day) in Smart Araneta Coliseum, The concept of the show is based on Velasquez' experience in wonderful and challenging sides of marriage and being a mother. Ogie Alcasid has been in the entertainment industry of music, TV and movies for 20 years and still, he is consistently regarded as one of the most successful celebrities in the business. His compositions, whether sung by other singers or himself, are certified hits. His albums (18 all in all) have received platinum and gold certifications and all of his concerts here and abroad were sold-out, proving that many of the listeners and viewers love his brand of romantic music. Who can forget Ogie's classic hits like " Bakit Ngayon ka Lang", "Nandito Ako" and "Sa Kanya"? Despite all the success and controversies he received and has gone through, Ogie has stayed as humble and prolific as ever.
Last August 13, President Noynoy Aquino led the oath-taking of the new Board of Directors of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mangaawit (OPM) in Malacanang. The new OPM officers, who will serve the organization for the next two years are Gary Valenciano, Jose Marie Chan, Dingdong Avanzado, Noel Cabangon, Christian Bautista and Ogie Alcasid as its president.

Jolina Magdangal (born Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal on November 6, 1978 in Bulacan, Philippines) is a Filipina actress, singer, television host, and entrepreneur.
A TV appearance is a dream of thousands of people; it was the memorable TV appearance of Eat Bulaga history moments. If you have watched it, maybe you too smiled with laughter, but if not, then, you missed the main point of a first TV appearance. Because that moment, the day when a princess first appeared on national television and laughed through the jokes of now Box-office King, Prince of Comedy, Vic Sotto at the longest running show, Eat Bulaga. From that time on, who can say, top chatter hits, best seller albums, top rating TV shows, blockbuster movies has been possible, millions of fans have joined the JOLOG groups, millions of words have been written about her, and millions of fans had changed their lives forever! If you think using millions is an exaggerated count, then, we tell you, Jolina have sold already a million albums since 1996, she managed to fill her concert venues, locally and internationally, she has even more than 5 No.1 singles here in the Philippines, her shows are all top ratter, and having a successful business, Jolina’s Fashion Gallery would be the proof. We believe she hold an evidence of a rising positive process done in the public eye. Solo artist who have their own talent vary from her because she can do all, she sings, she dance, she acts, she host, few from our actresses who can do all! Trials have put her to stand firm, some gave unenthusiastic reviews and some even used her family, but, she proven that she is more strong than them, she still attain what she is.

Gaudencio Aquino Sillona III (born February 1, 1981), who performs under the mononym Jay R, is a Filipino singer-songwriter, actor, record producer and model. He established his popularity in 2003, after releasing his debut album, Gameface, under Universal Records. The album performed well, both critically and commercially, earning him a number one single, "Bakit Pa Ba". It also received numerous awards, and was certified Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. He made his big screen debut in the 2004 feature film Happy Together, and later, released his self-titled second album in 2005.
In 2006, he built a recording studio inside his mansion, followed by a recording label called JAYRS Music. He later renamed it as Homeworkz Records, as the studio is in his home. In the same year, he released his first ever Christmas album, Christmas Away from Home, and dedicated it to his late uncle Reny. The album was re-released in 2008, where he donated the proceeds from the sales to GMA's Kapuso Foundation. Also in 2008, he released a cover album, Soul in Love, which became his highest-rated and biggest-selling album. It received highly positive response from both critics and the public.
He released an all-Tagalog album early in 2010, Jay R Sings OPM Love Classics, which consists of revivals of legendary OPM love songs. Later, he recorded a Bahasa song, which is slated for release in Indonesia. He is part of TV musical variety show Party Pilipinas on GMA, and hosts the Philippine adaptation of dating game show Take Me Out on the same network. He is often partnered to singer Kyla.

Giancarlo "Gian" Alzate Magdangal (born November 18, 1981 in Manila, Philippines, is a Filipino singer, performer, and theater actor currently signed to GMA Network. A former boy band member of 17:28, he rose to prominence as one of the runners-up of Philippine Idol in 2006. Magdangal was dubbed during the competition as the "Livewire Idol".
Magdangal received P250,000 as prize for being a runner-up on Philippine Idol. He said that he gave part of it to pay family debts and some of it went to his savings. Weeks after the competition, Magdangal signed a non-exclusive contract with GMA Network and had been a regular talent in its Sunday noontime variety show SOP Rules. However, a stipulation in Magdangal's contract states that he is not supposed to mention "Philippine Idol" in any of his appearances on GMA Network, and this has been noticeable since his first appearances. Magdangal, along with fellow Idol finalists Jelli Mateo and Pow Chavez, were included in a list of Most Promising People of 2007. He was described as the year's Christian Bautista, if not even better. Together with his fellow Idol finalists, Magdangal performed in a concert held in Araneta Coliseum on March 23, 2007. He performed in Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant in 2007, where he serenaded the finalists. Magdangal also guested in a fund-raising concert entitled "From the Soul...For the Mind", which benefited non-government organization Family Farm Schools. He performed in a concert headlined by Tiples de Santo Domingo, in which he was a member, in Philamlife Theater on September 15, 2007.
He won Best Performance by a New Male Artist at the 20th Awit Awards on August 2007 for his song "Himala" that was part of the Philippine Idol Top 12 Album. Magdangal was included in Candy Magazine's list of "Candy Cuties" for 2007. He also guested in the Philippine version of Celebrity Duets, wherein he performed with socialite and self-proclaimed "eventologist" Tim Yap. Plans for his solo album, under GMA Records, is currently in the works. He is currently part of the Manila cast of Steges' production of West Side Story, where he plays the lead role of Riff. Riff is the best friend of the character Tony, which is played by Christian Bautista.
