I CHOOSE UST's Karim Abdul because no doubt, he's the best defensive player this year. He can definitely rebound (league's best), block and even steal! Aside from the fact that he can also score big.

Why him over Karim Abdul? Because defense is not only sheer power, you also have to be smart. Too many goaltends and flopping from Abdul, not to mention whining. He's still a good player though. Meanwhile, Greg Slaughter, in his final year, has not only the stats but also the intangibles. He's intimidating and he's smart down low. He deserves the award.
