uraro, thanks! so 'yung passport, i-iwan 'yon sa consul before you go to the courier? is that right? (kulit no! he he!)
ni-email ko na nga 'yung lawyer, wala pa rin respond, anxious na ko, he he!
God bless!

actually you dont need to insist na iiwan yun kasi yung consul na pupuntahan mo eh kukuhanin talaga yan...ang kinukuha lang kasi nilang mga passport ay yung approved..kaya kung di nya kinuha eh ibig sabihin denied ka...i know naman that you'll be approved...so after this, saka ka na pupunta sa courier!
bait bait talaga! thanks uraro!
isa pa tanong! he he! how many days did you wait for the visaed passport to be delivered at your house? do you have to be at home for the delivery guy to give the visaed passport to you? or is it ok if your not home and somebody could just get the visaed passport for you? ok lang ba 'yon?
![]()
i think i waited for about 2-3 days...basta less than a week..pero dont worry..kung matagalan man yun e sa courier na nagkadeperensya yun....kasi ang pag-issue lang naman ay one day lang..kasi nakita ko yung issue date nung visa ko eh the date after nung day na nainterview ako...so isang day lang talaga..dun na sa courier tumatagal...pero you cant get it naman personally from the embassy..that's the way their system goes, it should be given via courier..(kasi nga naman baka mas lalong dumami ang tao dun sa embassy!)...
saka with regards to ur question..actually nakalagay dun sa form na kung sakaling wala ka eh sino ang kukuha..ilalagay mo yung name nung person na yun...saka there will be a slip..parang claim slip na you will present to their delivery man kung andyan na passport mo..andun lahat sa form ang instructions...
thanks so much! uraro. basta pag-approve na visa ko, inform ko lahat kayo, nag-yabang ba! he he!
when i get to new york, treat kita uraro, sa starbucks & mcdo, 'k ba?!?! he he!
thanks!!!
one more question uraro, kung dumating na 'yung contract ko at ni-submit ko na sa us embassy, syempre hihintayin ko na lang 'yung visa. but while waiting for the visa, is it ok na dalhin ko na 'yung contract sa poea para kumuha na oec kahit wala pa yung visaed passport ko?
thanks.

I applied for an E3 visa, and done with my interview.M also in the medical field but a facility in California hired me (courtesy of a friend who works there). You can ask your sis maybe to get you a petitioner from any medical facility there (Calif). There are some agencies in Makati hiring medical professionals like Prolink(?) or Prostaff ( i just heard it from my classmates in Kaplan) and theres one in Taft-IPPAMS-i was referred there before but i was already waiting for the conclusion of my petition that time so di ko na pinatulan.Well, the idea of going there using a tourist visa is easier and less tedious and i guess-faster. Good luck to you.Originally posted by Ronmac
Hello guysI need some advise too.
Im planning to get some visa too, dont know what visas type?
I have a sis in Cali, she always told me to get a tourist visa, but i dont want to get there for a tourist only , i want to get there for a sure job not for tour only. Im into medical field. any advise from anybody? Any prospective employer or agency for medical jobs coming from you? thanks all.
hah, talaga...treat mo ko?...thank you! thank you!..antagal ko nang di kumakain dito eh....he he he *joke*...dyahe nga alang jollibee ditow...
anyway, you really need the passport with the visa for the poea, it's actually one of the requirements..syempre plus the contract...and also the airline ticket advice..kailangan alam mo na yung date ng flight mo..
if you want you can check out their requirements site at:
http://www.poea.org.ph/html/processing.html under NAMEHIRE (kung di ka naka-agency)..saka andun din yung mga fees...i paid more or less P7000 din! just check out the site...by the way, one of the requirements also is the medical exam..huwag ka munang magpa-medical kasi POEA will be the one to refer you to a medical clinic (the referral will be given after you submit all the requirements)...at ayun na ang directly mag-sa-submit ng result ng checkup mo sa POEA...
as soon as you get all of the requirements, punta ka na agad dun...di naman agad magbabayad eh...ang matagal processing..after this ka lang magbabayad kung approved ka na rin (sus! parang embassy din ah!)...ang suggestion ko sa yo..huwag kang mag-pupunta ng hapon kasi they dont entertain na sa hapon..lahat ng ginagawa na nila for the whole day ay yung nagpass ng documents sa umaga...kaya dapat maaga ka dun...i tell you halos isang linggo ako dito pabalik-balik...
goodluck!
mlouie, good for you, congrats!
thanks again uraro, oo naman libre kita 'dyan. geeez! i just check the poea site, grabe ang laki rin pala ng gagastusin, shock ako, he he! bakit naman pabalik-balik ka sa poea? kakainis yung ganon no? and just wanna know, what kind of medical check up would that be? a drug test maybe? 'la lang, 'just asking, he he!
and how would you get an "Airline booking certificate" or "pre-paid ticket advice"? paano 'to? paki-clear naman 'to please.
grabe, laki na ng na-i-tulong mo sa kin, thanks so much.

pabalik balik ako sa poea kasi sa pagpa-pass ng requirements, seminars, etc...di nila kasi lahat natatapos within that same day kaya kailangan mong bumalik talaga para tawagin yung number mo..kung nakalagpas yun eh mag-sa-sign ka ulit sa logbook para bigyan ka na naman ng bagong number...and remember, di lang naman ikaw ang pumupunta dun...ang dami dami din!...see?...ganun ka-tedious yon!
and with the medical check-up...basic medical check-up lang naman ang gagawin..pinahubad din nga ako eh (nyeeh!..indecent exposure!)...kinuha pa ang dugo ko...oh wow! talagang torture...at hindi lang yun...mayroon pang kinatatakutan ko sa lahat...ang psychological exam....kala ko nga dito ako babagsak eh!....
with regards to the prepaid ticket advice...ano ba ang arrangement nyo ng employer mo sa US? sila ba bibili ng ticket mo o ikaw na para pumunta ka dun?...kasi kung ikaw na ang bibili, eto lang yung itinerary na ibibigay sa yo ng airline na bibilhan mo...kasama nung receipt o notice of payments..ngayon kung yung employer mo naman ang bibili, eh magbigay ka na ng time estimate sa kanila kung kailan ka possibly pwedeng lumipad, tapos after nilang makabili, sabihin mo ipadala na nila sa yo yung ticket advice..ewan ko kung pwedeng i-fax...pero sa akin kasi ipina-fedex pa rin yung original copy eh.....
with regards to the tulong...actually ok lang yun...this is a computer-generated reply naman eh..kaya di ako to!...bwe he he he *joke lang*....well, it's ok...lahat naman tayo dumadaan dyan eh...kaya nga thankful din ako kasi marami din akong nalaman dito noon sa PEx....
thanks a lot! uraro. tanong ko lang, is it possible that the medical check up would also be at the same day as the first day i would go there sa poea? in your case, how was it?
and pina-kuha ka pa ba ng nbi or police clearance?
kakainis di pa dumating contract.

You have to have a separate day for the medical exam. sa dami ng tao dun, aabutin ka talaga ng siyam-siyam bago matapos. Kailangan andun ka na sa Clinic ng umaga para matapos ka the same day.
Some Tips during the medical exam:
1. If you are wearing prescription glasses, don't forget to bring them. They wouldn't release your medical records until you already completed all of the exam.
2. If you have problems in you teeth (filling, propy - the simple ones), have them fixed before you go to the clinic. Some of the dentists there are not so good. (Unless you want to have your filling there)
3. Wear comfortable clothes. It would be easier to remove them for the medical exam. There are a lot of people there and they always rush you to finish whatever exam you would take.
Just a friendly reminder to all H1B Visa holders:
When you return to the Philippines on a business trip or vacation, don't forget to pass by POEA and get your OEC(Overseas Employement Certificate). If you don't have your OEC, they would not allow you to board your return flight.
I have two friends who where denied boarding because they don't have their OECs with them![]()
i agree to what agimat had said...
tsaka i don't think it's possible to have ur medical exam also on your first day sa POEA..kasi ang pagbigay pa lang nila ng clinic referral e antagal na eh...***** by the time ibigay sa yo yun eh hapon na...so sasara na ang clinic..kaya next day ka na papa-checkup!....(ayan eh kung makukuha mo pa rin ang referral on your first day!!!)
with regards naman sa nbi or police clearance...ako di na ako kumuha...ok na yung wala..di naman actually required yan eh...
agimat & uraro...thanks ng marami!![]()

Welcome to the Land of Sour Milk and Honey kyutfeys!!!!How was your flight?!?!? Did you start work already????
WELCOME to the Big Apple.
so where r u in NY?
thanks for welcoming me forsaken & witty_gal.
forsaken, my flight was very exhausting...it's all connecting flights...from manila to hongkong...and the flight suppose to be from hongkong to n.y. was cancelled and became flight hongkong to l.a....and when i reached l.a., i was already late for my next flight, that is the l.a. to n.y. flight (cathay really sucks...with the delay and cancellation...ughh!)...so i have to wait for a number of hours, for aboout 7 hours before my departure flight of l.a. to n.y. via american airlines.
i would meet my boss next tuesday and discuss things from there...i really can't wait to work here. you're in chicago, right?
hey! witty_gal...i'm in queens, particularly elmhurst but i'm gonna work in manhattan...are you in n.y. too? working?
