The UAAP should make a definite rule on buzzer beating shots. If it's not crystal clear that the ball was released before the time expired, they should not count it.

Or they can invest on better equipment and more cameras like the ones used in the NBA, where the slow motion replay is very fine in every frame and every movement is captured so we wouldn't repeat a similar case like this. If only they had a camera capturing the action on both baselines, we wouldn't have any trouble deciding this one.

Sino ba umagaw ng bola from NU? Sana kay Hargrove na lang niya pinasa ang bola para walang kontrobersiya. Hargrove was underneath the basket during the entire scramble. RR had to run hard to the basket when he got the ball. Hargrove could have just laid the basket it easily without having the referees to even check if he made it in time.

Counted sabi ng ref's bakit ba di kayo nagtitiwala sa mga refs. hehe Gusto bawiin ni RR yung team niya kay Romeo kaya binakaw niya. Dapat dun pinasa na kay Hargrove alley oop pa highlight reel. Kung Ateneo yun or ibang team pasa yun.

When you are doing a layup, especially a finger roll, it MUST travel through your fingers. YOU NEVER USE YOUR PALM TO DO A FINGER ROLL.

Player ako kaya alam ko. One of the basics in basketball is to NEVER DRIBBLE USING YOUR PALM, BUT WITH YOUR FINGERS/FINGERTIPS. And as far as I'm concern, when I'm going for a layup, especially a finger roll, I use my fingers to put a backspin on the ball.

So basically, when I saw the first picture about the layup, I thought that the ball is still at the tip of the index and the middle fingers.

That's just my opinion regarding this matter. And to clear the record, I have no bitterness to FEU or whatsoever.

I've never seen any legit basketball player do a lay-up or a jumpshot where the basketball rests on the palm of the hand. Ask any basketball clinic or school, they will always tell you to use your fingers

Besides, logically if you use your palm in doing a lay-up, either it will go in the upward direction or worse you throw it backwards defeating the very purpose of doing a lay-up.

Heck, even the proper way of dribbling the ball you don't involve your palm. You always use your fingers.

tama ka dito pero yung lay-up ni RR ang issue, kung na release ba sa kamay/daliri niya on time, at ang sagot po po ay TAMA, wala na po sa fingertips ni RR yung bola, 00.1 pa yung time, watch niyo po yung replay sa UAAP website para sa ebidensiya

Going back to RR's buzzer-beating layup, I think a video clip of the play would be a better basis on whether it is really counted or not. It would be even better if the shot was zoomed in to see it clearly.

Anu ba yan topic lang kung counted o hindi naging lay up 101 na. RR lay up is sa board nanggaling so it means hindi siya finger roll. Kahit naman counted siya o hindi tingin ko hindi na babaguhin desisyon FEU won na. Maaga pa madami pwede mangyari mamya matalo pa ng UP ang FEU at DLSU humabol pa NU. Or sa final four kahit solo 2nd place ang FEU baka talunin lang twice ng DLSU or UST or NU yan. GS nga ang baba ng averages this season pero nanalo ADMU nasa sistema nila yun walang bakawan and pastar bigayan ng bola teamwork talaga. Gusto ko sana FEU kaso yung libre si Hargrove kanina nagbakaw si RR. Sa final four nagkakaalamanan. LAst season ADU nga tinalo twice ng FEU. 2006 UST 5th place step ladder for 4th place straight then nanalo over ADMU sa finals. Bilog ang bola move on wait na l@ng sa decision ng UAAP board and enjoy the rest of the season.

Watched the play in the UAAP website.

Look at this picture. The game clock on the bottom of the screen reads 00.1. But, looking at the back of the backboard and the two shot clocks, the red light was already on. I don't know who's fault it is.
