Congrats DLSU!
ayaw talaga ng UST na lumalamang sila sa simula. parang nung 1st game-1st round sa FEU, lamang buong game, pero natalo din. mas gusto nilang humahabol!
bawi tigers!
Just watched the buzzer beater shot of Jeron Teng. Grabe talaga! Ang galing. It hurts!![]()
props to DLSU, you really had it coming this time.
Teng rises to save Green Archers, Chris Ball eligible
It was a dogfight. If the UST Growling Tigers can do it, so can the DLSU Green Archers, with help from the Jeron Teng Express.
Jeron Teng scored on a buzzer beater with milliseconds remaining to pilot the Green Archers to a pulsating 53-51 win against the UST Growling Tigers in UAAP Season 75.
“This is my first buzzer beater in a big game like this,” said Teng, who struggled with a 4-of-13 shooting from the field enough for 9 points. “I’m thankful they gave the last shot to me.”
UST’s behemoth Karim Abdul, who posted 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, tied the game at 51-all with 3.3 seconds remaining, but the Growling Tigers failed to make a defensive stop against the Green Archer in their final possession that left Teng wide open for for jumper from the left elbow.
Unlike their previous encounter, the Growling Tigers weren’t able to finish this one and dropped to a 7-3 win-loss record.
“We’re just very lucky to survive this win,” said De La Salle University mentor Gee Abanilla. “We didn’t have LA (Revilla) and Yutien (Andrada) and a lot of the guys, even our rookies stepped up their game.”
“I’m very happy with the win and we’re still in striking distance. Anything can happen in the second round we just have to focus.”
Almond Vosotros led the Green Archers with 12 points, while rookie Thomas Torres posted 10 points as De La Salle improved its record to 6-3.
Chris Ball Eligible to Play
After careful deliberation, according to the UAAP board, UP Fighting Maroons’ Chris Ball is eligible to play in UAAP Season 75 and here is their official statement:
“The UAAP board has therefore has declared Mr. Ball as eligible to play for the UP men’s basketball team for UAAP season 75. The ACR was approved on Aug. 14 by the Bureau of Immigration thus he has complied with it at the end of the 1st round which is on Aug. 24.
Issued Aug. 14 which is way before the deadline which is end of 1st round or the eve of their first game which is Aug. 24. We decided on the appeal of UP to allow Mr. Ball to play.”

Where can I watch a rerun? My cable is Cablelink and we don't have balls or btv.
Or is there a YT link? Kahit the buzzer beater lang?
That's what you get when you play FEU, NU and DLSU within 1 week. At may game pa sa Saturday![]()
^I still don't get it why the 2nd round schedule for the Tigers is tough. Anyway, I hope they learned a lot from this game. Looking forward to a great comeback on Saturday against AdU.
VIVA SANTO TOMAS
Teng-ks a lot, Jeron! The replay is now being aired sa Balls.
At the start, I thought this will be a sure win for UST in the absence of veterans Revilla and Andrada. Hell I was wrong! Much respect and kudos to Jeron and this DLSU squad.![]()
La Salle's deep bench seems to be working wonders.
I agree that Season 75 is a lot more competitive compared to the past five to six seasons. You have five title contenders, each one capable of taking out the other. Games are likewise a lot closer compared to the past seasons where dominant teams would usually beat the others by ten to twelve points.
This is good for collegiate basketball and Philippine basketball as it raises the bar. I would attribute this to the improved scouting of the UAAP teams and better financing of the teams.
Watched the game but doesn't hurt me. Ewan ko ba kung bakit. Kasi siguro tied parin tayo sa FEU after they lost to ADMU. Basta mapanalo lang natin yung 3 of 4 games left natin, malaki chance natin sa twice to beat advantage..
Congrats DLSU! grabe si Jeron Teng, ang galing!
Akala ko UST na mananalo nung una...sayang...Bawi next game.
One for UST
