Kailan naganap ang ‘The Great Flood’ sa Pilipinas?

Kailan naganap ang ‘The Great Flood’ sa Pilipinas?
    August 10, 2012 10:48pm

I vaguely remember when I was kid our house was flooded up to my ankles, that was the only time I can remember flood waters coming into our house. Maybe that was the great flood, I don't know

This was one reason why Ondoy was seen as a "once-in-a-lifetime" event, but after what just happened, what we are now seeing is likely "the new normal."

There was one in 1982 as well. My dad missed the birth of my younger brother because he was doing search and rescue operations in Central Luzon.

I believe this is true. When Ondoy happened, I thought it was just a once-in-a-lifetime disaster. Two years later, it happened again but much worse. This is indeed the new normal. I don't see any realistic solution being done to counter this problem. It will only get worse.

    Off topic:

I asked some of my friends who are frequently in Taft Ave. kung ano situation nila nung Habagat. Ang sagot sa akin, 'It wasn't too bad. There was flooding but the highest it ever got to was up to the knees. Not bad.'

Now that I think about it, knee-level flood is still bad. When did flood ever become 'not bad'?

I'm just saying; we are getting too used to the flood and that's not a good sign.

Conclusion: TAO ang may kasalanan! Walang dagdag, walang bawas!
