UAAP Games tomorrow to go on if rains stop

MANILA, Philippines – UAAP men's basketball games scheduled tomorrow will take place if the rains stop, the league said today.

The UAAP, in its official Season 75 Twitter account, said the announcement came from league president Nilo Ocampo of National University.

“From UAAP president Nilo Ocampo: If the rains stop this afternoon, we will go ahead with games tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum,” the UAAP ‏(@UAAPSeason75) tweeted.

The De La Salle University Green Archers take on the Adamson Falcons in the curtain-raiser while cellar-dwelling University of the East clashes with streaking University of Santo Tomas in the second game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tomorrow.

Heavy rains pounded Metro Manila and nearby provinces this morning, prompting the government to suspend classes and even work in public and private offices in NCR. Residents in flood-prone areas in the capital have been evacuated by government rescue teams.

The UAAP was previously forced to call off games scheduled last July 21 also due to inclement weather.

best of luck in the future alex nuyles.

Its sad on how Alex Nuyles had to end his UAAP career. Adamson really needed his help and experience. This is really a big blow to Adamson, Adamson supporters and to Alex himself.

Get well soon and I hope that he overcomes this and would still have a great basketball career (if he decides to pursue it).

With this, DLSU would have a relatively easier opponent in Adamson. Other Falcons should step up to fill Nuyles shoes to give La Salle a run for their money.

If DLSU loses, then it's time to prepare for the next season...
But this should be their chance to have a statement game.

Lousy game for the Archers, they barely scraped past the undermanned Adamson team.

indeed a statement game for DLSU even if they won the game they will not be a part of the F4 party (5th place in UAAP Season 75)

Shooting free throws will mean the difference between winning and losing for the Green Archers. They have basically lost 12 points.

  17. #17
This is what I was saying previously, UST stole the game from DLSU because the latter couldn't convert their free throws. It was similar in this game, except that ADU didn't pounce on the opportunity. Camson in particular, isn't doing well especially now that his FG% is not getting any better. But to be fair with ADU, not only did they have a depleted lineup but they lost another one in Nuyles, and still they held their own against a talented DLSU roster.

I'm still wondering why coach Gee isn't playing Dela Paz, Tampus and Vosotros more this year. They were heavily used last year. Not suited for the system he's trying to implement?

  18. #18
probably, the coach see them more as liabilities.tampus had been given lots of chances to prove his worth in the team but he just kept blowing it.vosotros has a tendency to change the pace of the game and that does not help most of the time.as for delapaz,he's just not consistently good

Ryan Monteclaro = Lester Alvarez 2.0. he almost killed DLSU just like what Alvarez kept on doing during previous UAAP seasons.

ADU losing Nuyles meant the SF mismatch heavily favoring Teng. halos walang maitapat ang ADU kay Teng despite the fact that the kid had (actually, has) difficulty when isolated and has no shooting (even his free throw shooting has become problematic). if Nuyles is around, the outcome of things would have been much different.
