    Landscaping a beach resort

Meron pong beach resort na nabili ang pamilya namin at gusto naming ipa-landscape. Syempre, the challenge is that not many plants grow in sandy, salty and windy environment. I know that coconuts grow well at the beach, but coconuts are too boring. We want lush, green and colorful landscaping. We will hire a landscape contractor, but I need to have some ideas first because I need to make sure that the contractor knows what he is doing. I also would like to make suggestions to the contractor.

We want to keep the areas near the water to be pure sand, but farther away we have the options to add soil in plant beds. Also we probably want to use big planters in some areas.

    Any suggestion is valued. Thanks!

OnT: Umbrella trees (talisay) can survive slatty water plus it provides the perfect shade, but it will kill most of the plants underneath it because it deprives them of the sunlight.

Thanks! Talisay is a great idea, especially for the shade. But Talisay is not a symmetrical tree so it does not look pretty. But I would include it in the list.
