    What is art education?

I came across this Master of Arts in Arts Education program in UP Diliman. Are there people here who are currently enrolled or have completed the program? What it is like (curriculum, careers etc.)? I know a friend whose degree is arts management, fit kaya ito sa kanya? She wants to teach art in the future and we're helping her figure out a good way in maximizing here bachelors degree. Thank you!

This was one of my m.a. Choices, but i figured i may have a hard time since my undergrad is not related to it.

Yes this program is for art teachers or those who want to teach arts in the secondary and tertiary levels. There are a lot of colleges and universities which require arts or humanities subjects in the general education program, and more careers await now that we started the K-12

What is your undergrad? Really? Tertiary? I thought it is only for elementary and secondary? We are both art majors but she's deciding whether she would take this. I am currently taking MBA even though I am an arts major. I want to teach but business majors in the future.

    Art Ed graduate here.

Anyway, what kind of art teacher do you want to be? Do you want to teach in primary, secondary or tertiary level? There are a lot of things to consider kasi. Compared to Fine Arts, Art Education is more on theory than practice. If you want to teach in college naman then I would strongly suggest that you take Fine Arts instead tapos kuha ka ng education units after.

Wow! Great! I am an arts studies major and I want to teach in college, say, humanities or photography and visual arts, would this discipline suit well?
