    Practical Workout accessories

    just wanna share...

    i recently bumped into this cool android INTERVAL TIMER app.

    i find it very useful for:

    1. high intensity interval trainings/tabata trainings

    2. i could even use it in my starting strength or stronglifts workouts.

    check it out:

    if you have some other practical workout accessories, please feel free to share..

    ^ thanks for sharing..

    wow, this may render my notebook-training-journal obsolete.

    my phone is now easily becoming indispensable, with all the important apps in it.

    my only problem with this interval timer is that ang hina ng beeps nya. i could hardly hear it in when i'm in the gym.

    i tried checking the settings on my phone but to no avail.

    perfect na sana, kaya lang yung sound lang talaga, sobrang mahina.

    i hope i could still do something in my phone settings to make it a little louder.

    belts can be use for squatting, military press.. how heavy you can squat? at some point, even if you have the correct form (back arched), you will tend to arched too much because of heavy loads. example, standing military press, you need to support your back, and this belt can help you with that.

    straps can be use for deadlifting... not all people have big hands and strong grips, like me, my hands are small, so gripping is one of my problem, and i don't waste much of my time improving my grip, so straps is a handful tool. and it won't injure you as long as you know how to use it.

    @jasperbad

    the only thing i bring to the gym is my extra shirt.. belts, straps, and even gloves give you a false sense of strenght it would be wiser to stay away from then IMO

    its up to you bro... but i tell you, these things we're not invented or intended to do harm, so don't think of it that it will put yourself in danger. it has its own purpose specifically design for lifting. as long as you know how to use it.

    I'm in need of new running shoes cause the pair I have now is starting to get overused. I've just been waiting for the right time to get a new pair as they are pretty pricey. I decided to go online yesterday to get some prices to compare and came across this website. They have a pretty good variety of brands available and a mix of prices which I need. Hoping to find my pair soon!

    @muscle Pharma:

    could you point me to the right direction as to where I can buy those straps?

    also the gloves are handy in my opinion so you wont develop callouses in the hands.

    I wouldn't recommend using straps and belts. I even wouldn't use powder unless I hit weights around 95% and up of my 1rm.

    By NOT using them, you will force yourself to strengthen your weak link.
    From your grip to your back. I'd be more concerned of the squat depth.

    Sometimes I would cheat using the hook grip. But even then, I make it a point to repeat lifts with regular grips on a training cycle later on.

    I only use gloves. I get calluses on my hands even when I lift the lightest weights.

    What are skins for ba? I always thought they were just for keeping you warm when you work out in cold weather but I see people wear them in the gym.
