You can try Sykes. You only need to undergo 2 interviews (HR and Final Interview). First interview is conducted by a HR Associate. Most of the time, it's done in groups of 4. Basic questions will be asked from you (ex. Why would you like to apply for a call center job? / Tell me something about yourself not included or listed on your resume?). If you pass, you'll be referred to a Recruitment Specialist for the final interview. This time, you'll be asked specific questions related to the position you're applying for (ex. Give a scenario that exemplifies your customer service skills / Why would Sykes hire you, and what can you contribute to the company?). Follow-up questions will be asked, based on the answers you gave from the previous question. Typically, it would take 20 mins. You have to do well on that interview, since it would determine if you'll get a Language Incentive of 2k a month (every 30th). After that, you'll be asked to go to the One San Miguel site in Ortigas (Sykes' head office in Manila) for the job offer. You'll be presented 2 contracts - lower pay (14k) with high benefits, and higher pay (15k) with lower benefits. Just a word of caution, if you're a seasoned / experienced BPO employee don't bother applying at Sykes. They have no salary increase. What you see on your contact will be your basic pay, FOREVER! They don't pay extra premium for your experience. Below are some of the Pros and Cons in Sykes:
Pros:
- health / medical cards are given a month after your first day
- for people who chose the lower benefits with higher pay, leaves (SL & VL) are credited on the 4th month. For people who chose the higher benefits with lower pay, you can have your leaves and other fringe benefits converted to cash every January and July (tax-free)
Cons:
- they have a Jurassic system when it comes to attendance policy (good luck!)
- for single employees who would like to enroll dependents on the health card (Medicard), you need to pay a certain premium. Per-existing conditions will be covered after a year. It's only good for consultation / physicians' office visit. no medical procedures are covered for a year
- no salary increase, EVER!
- computers, equipments and other devices that you use are so old that you wish you bring your personal computer with you. All headsets are fastened permanently on the Avaya Jurassic phone (the big grey one), so if the phone or headset are not working good luck!
Again, these are some of the things you need to know before applying at Sykes. Look at it this way, there is a reason why you only have to undergo 2 interviews to get a job at Sykes. Because they need people ASAP. If you resign, you need to undergo 2 months notice. Failure to comply would mean termination. Which is why a lot of people go on AWOL if they want to leave the company. If you go AWOL, don't bother including Sykes on your resume. Because if your new employer would conduct a background check, Sykes will throw you off the bus! So there, hope this will help you in deciding if you like to apply at Sykes. If you wish to apply, you can go to the Burgundy (Makati) or One San Miguel (Ortigas) sites.
