After all, if it really is a part of our "natural" humanity then humans would have evolved these constructs all along. Remember, homo sapiens is at least 1 million years old. Nobody knows why things were dormant for 900K+ years. All of a sudden, social constructs appear within the last 50,000 years.
Now, we're moving beyond what is provable to what is purely conjecture. One cannot establish the sentience of other races, so you cannot use that point to refute a provable point. The only way you can prove that artificial constructs arose from a natural progression is to identify a point in time when something "unnatural" (i.e. not of this earth) caused the development of humanity's social constructs. If you wish to extend this hypothesis of yours further, then I have two words for you: Occam's razor.

gs09 is right. Experts agree that anatomical modernity was exhibited 200,000 years ago and behavioral modernity, 50,000 years ago. The gap may be fully explained by the natural evolution of constructs over the 150,000 year gap. That 50,000 modernity was not done in one fell swoop, but took on a rapid pace 50,000 years ago, similar to how the Industrial Revolution facilitated progress in a much faster scale than all of recorded history combined. This is not attributable to anything artificial/unnatural. This is the natural progression of things. There was no outside event (to humanity/nature/this world) that caused this.
