    sa 256k na down may {extra ka pa babayadan like registration , insurance , chattel .. etc }

Just my 2 cents. Anyway, goodluck with your purchase.

nagtatanong lang po siya about sa mga feedbacks(positive and negative) niyo sa mga car na nabanggit niya for him to make his decision on what to buy.

Hindi namin pinipilit (or atleast ako) na wag sya bumili or pinipigilan bumili. Trust me.

So why not help him without discouraging him.

    THANK YOU SIR!

pag dating sa gastusin, malakas ang loob ng mga pinoy kahit mabaon pa sa utang... 5 years IMHO is too much... like what jnyarop said, try considering second hand since *** pang downpayment mo eh enough naman to buy 2nd hand, just tag along a friend mechanic when buying.

maiba ako, first time buyer and driver?

  7. #27

No, nasa abroad ako permanent na may bahay at may lumang kotse.

Don't worry. Sabi ko siguro. . Hndi ako absolute.

hehehe, wala po akong sinasabi about sa mababaon sa utang yan.. ang point ko lang po is sumagot ayon sa tanong. stick to the topic na lang po.

    example:
    boy1: kumain ka na?
    boy2: ikaw, kumain na?
    boy3(watcher): watda?
    nalaman ba niya sagot?

as i said po, andyan naman family and friends niya para magbigay ng advice sa kanya about sa financial na yan, not to some random person..

infos/feedbacks about sa car po kelangan niya.

    +1 din ako sa Jazz.

Anyway, sir bale san pong banko yan?
(and all the other stuff). This is just the pure cost of the car.

Mga Sirs, relax lang po tayo sa thread... any suggestion is welcome. Madami ako natutunan sa mga sinasabi niyo. No flames po please.

I am actually looking for a second hand car, it's just my mom will be the one paying for the downpayment and she refuses to buy 2nd hand. I am the one who will be paying for the monthly dues... and first time ko magkaron ng car, meaning to say first time ko magkaron ng car na nakapangalan sa akin.. hahaha... usually hiram hiram lang ako sa tita, lolo, nanay... hehe.

Actually ayaw ko din mabaon sa utang ng 5 years, kaya lang hindi ako marunong tumingin ng auto, and madaming negative experience na kasi akong nabalitaan with regards to 2nd hand vehicles, baka siguro malas lang talaga mga kamaganak ko... hehe..

when it comes to financial literacy, i'm not claiming to be like robert kiyosaki, but i have investments here and there... pagdating lang po sa koche, naiisip ko lang po kasi sinabi sa kin ng kaibigan ko... sabi niya, kung bibili ka ng auto, bilin mo na yung gusto mo, kasi hindi naman yan tulad ng rubber shoes na every year bibili ka ng bago... yan na magiging auto mo for at least 5 years..

pero sirs, naisip ko na din po yung 2nd hand, it's just hard to convice my mother who'll be paying for the down, to purchase a 2nd hand vehicle... given the family's negative experiences in 2nd hand vehicles... noob lang talaga kami pumili ng 2nd hand vehicle. (last time may mechanico pa silang kasama pero palpak pa din) hahaha

If you follow the topic, my first post was answering the question, and my second post was my advice when i saw the calculations. Hope that clears thing.

Well, if that is the case, and you really want to buy a car, then buy a new one then since your mom won't pay for the used one. And yes - your friend is right so choose the one that you like, and that is the Rio if I'm not mistaken.

Just a quick estimate and this is not the real value, let say you buy a car worth 1m, you paid a downpayment of 200k, so your debt would be 800k, and within 5 years, let say your debt will be 1m cause of interest.

after 5 years of suffering to pay a monthly payment (and IMHO is a long long time), anything can happen, from losing your job to going to an emergency hospital. You will never know. And its really hard to save money when you're paying bills like car payment, food, etc.

Okay to the point, so after 5 years, let say the value of car would be 400k. Think about it, if you buy a used one worth 300k right now and drive it for 5 years, and after that the value of the car let say would be 100k, 200k lang ang nawala sayo para makapunta from point a to point b.

Another thing, first time buyer and driver ba? kapag nabunggo mo yung bagong kotse or nabunggo ka ng mga jeepney driver, masakit yun. di bale. ayaw ko na rin isipin.

Car is not an invesment. It is depreciating asset. Opinyon ko lang to. Anyway, goodluck with your purchase. Choose whatever car you want, be responsible and financially wise.

since brand new ang kukunin mo. kung gusto mo ma preserve ang warranty ng car obligado ka mag pms {change-oil} every 5000k or 10,000km sa casa {mineral or full syth} medyo mahal nga lang sa casa ang bayad ... tanong mo sa dealer ang price .. kasi ang iba recomendded every 3months ang pms {mineral oil } or 5-6months sa full syth ...

  15. #35

First time buyer ---> opo boss

dati po kasi gamit lang ginagawa ko, mga elders sa bahay ang bahala na mag maintain since sa kanila naman yun, but i guess now... owning a car is much more complex and different in terms of knowing how to maintain it as well as the expense that comes with it... solo mode na kasi ako ngayon, di na ako pwedeng makigamit. hehe

agree din pala ako na matagal yung 5 years, pero no choice talaga sir, ayaw ko galawin yung investment ko sa stock market just to pay the whole amount of the car...

  19. #39
You'll never go wrong getting any of those 3 cars mentioned. If I were in your shoes, I will get the car that has the nearest CASA in my home.

  20. #40
Looks like the Honda City 1.5E is the cheapest but of course not the least. It's the winner bang for buck. In fact I own one. For durability, nothing to dicuss about Honda; aminin na natin may brand name pa.

For most ladies I advise to buy brand new whenever the economics permits. Mga car ngayon won't bother you with major trouble for 5 years. 2nd hand, mura nga but you won't have this confidence. Mga babae usually not keen sa troubleshooting. For me hindi virtue ang kuripot kung para sa sarili, it's better na dagdagan nalang natin ang sipag dahil we like nice stuffs. When you are young, you should be ambitious, right? Test drive mo muna lahat, pa-picture ka and be serious of what personality to project with your brand new car. This could help you choose the color as well.
