MANILA, Philippines -- Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero almost became a housemate in the first "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition" in 2006, according to host Bianca Gonzalez.
"He did the screenings, he did the interviews, and was seriously considering becoming a housemate," Gonzalez said in his column for the Philippine Star, which was published on Sunday.
Senator Chiz Escudero
Gonzalez was also a housemate during season 1 of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition," which was won by sexy actress Keanna Reeves.
Actor Rustom Padilla also came out of the closet during that mememorable season when he told Reeves that he is gay.
"When he told the show’s unit head Lauren Dyogi that he’ll first consult with his wife, direk Lauren answers laughing: 'Saan ka makakakita ng asawa hindi gugustuhin makita at malaman ang ginagawa mo 24/7?' Gonzalez said in her column.
"Good morning (Bianca) and thank you po..." Escudero said in a tweet to Gonzalez on Sunday.
Gonzalez also said the senator is "uncomfortable" being called a "heartthrob," although Escudero "finds it flattering" when supporters ask to have their picture taken with him.
"He does receive fan mail, according to his staff, and even once had a kolehiyala sit in the office and wait for the senator to walk by everyday for two months, and everyone thought she was an OJT," Gonzalez said.
“You have to understand where it came from. Lahat ng crush ko sa school, literally, walang crush sa akin,” Escudero told Gonzalez.
On Heart
Once again, Escudero offered few details about his "meetings" with actress Heart Evangelista.
“I’m not at liberty to say because perhaps I’ll be violating confidences,” Escudero said.
He also clarified that Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago, who is close to the actress, did not introduce EScudero and Evangelista in person but through cell phone.
Escudero also called the annulment of his marriage to "ex" Christine "a sad episode in anyone’s life that you wouldn’t wish even onto your worst enemies.”
Asked what he is looking for in a partner, he told Gonzalez: “Someone I can talk to. It’s about the conversation before, during, and after.. meals.”
Must Show Her Worth

The controversial winner (CW) of a contest is being hounded by issues about her winning. First, some fans are not happy that CW topped the voting. They felt that the other contestants were better and far more deserving. CW replied that there would always be haters and admirers and it just so happened that she had the most votes. Second, a report said it was easy for her votes to be cast because her family owns a franchise of a telecom business. And to drum up votes for CW, their telecom franchise allegedly had to launch a promo wherein prizes such as free load and a DSLR camera were given up for grabs. However, these two issues are not at all disturbing because the actions involved show how far her camp will go for the win. What’s more controversial are the following issues about CW, as shared by a reader to Fashion PULIS:
First, there’s a story about how CW seemed to have been infatuated with a boy from her campus (the FB link to prove this seems to have been deleted already). She was then branded as “boy-crazy.” Now, she denies she actually felt something for a fellow housemate who lied to her that he had a girlfriend. Second, CW is not in good terms even with a family member as she sees him quite “weird,” even though he is accomplished in his own right, and a champion in his field of interest. There’s also talk about how CW allegedly used money to pay for all the contests she joined in to make sure she’d win a slot.
As soon as CW can prove she can gather the fans and the fame to sustain her existence in the business, then by all means, these controversies will simply die a natural death. Do you think CW was deserving of the award, and will she rise up to the challenge to be as popular as the winners of the previous seasons?
