I'd like to think that among other people, we must exercise prudence. Some can be pretty open of their atheism (though it is an important but small aspect of our identity) but realize that even though we expect the good among people, we may not be received warmly.Christians were pretty much persecuted in Rome but that didn't stop them despite all the bigotry around them.
