    Music Production

    THANKS

I will not lie to you, but there are limited opportunities with Music Production. I would like to take that course to enrich myself but to make a career out of it, you will have to be resourceful in using your connections and you will need to improve on what you learned. You can apply for music studios or record labels (there's only one left surviving due to piracy) if you can but if you can start a recording studio on your own, you're a notch higher than the rest.

thanks bro for the info, pero in other countries ba patok to? wala na kasi ako ibang hilig para sakin music is my life eh hahaha how about kung sa mga ABS CBN or GMA ako mag work pwede kaya?

Yes you can try apply for those channels, but I would recommend you also try the music channels like MTV, V, or Myx. But being in Music Production means having that skill to create your own music and making your own mark. I'm a frustrated musician (drums to be exact) and then I found a calling a different path within the music industry as well but it's not as promising as yours, I had to focus on my Human Resource degree.

In the advertising world, they do love a good composer for commercial jingles and they also like someone with a background in Multi-Media. You can still open more doors for yourself so enrich it and learn to progress beyond your diploma.

You just have to find a way despite the limitations in this country. Only a few survive to stamp their class or make a name for themselves but never lose hope. Being resourceful is a key virtue in this industry. You can go underground or you can go mainstream, it's up to you. Just work within your means and strive to live up to your dreams!

Music production could also lead you to other aspects of the music/broadcast industry. Of course, radio is still the most accessible, with a lot of seasoned veterans also taking part in the production side of the business (like what AltarBoy said). I know a few and one of them's among the legends of the industry that I know you'll surely love to work with someday.

If it's your calling then go and pursue it.

Being a sound engineer does not limit you to explore other possibilities within the sphere of your profession. You should understand by now that CSB designs specific-type courses that prepares you for your chosen career, but the field is widened as you begin to work so don't box yourself to what you've known. Don't hinder yourself because the opportunities are small, Benildeans were bred to adapt and do beyond ordinary things.

j5bata says it best, you will work with those who went before you and you may learn more beyond the halls of CSB in doing so. Honing your craft is a never ending process and it is up to you to meet the challenges and innovations in your chosen career.

Tuition for freshmen applicants costs Php 60,000-Php 65,000 and it should be paid full cash, no installment policy fir freshmen and transferees.

Another thing, Tuition fee per unit costs Php 2,177 effective SY 2012-2013.

And just to add, DLS-CSB runs on a trimestral system which means every 3 months you need to shell out money for the coming term.

    1st term, 2nd term and 3rd term.
