    BandWagoner

Minsan din naman naging bandwagoner din ako, when the Bulls were dominating the NBA from 96-98, kasi naman yun lang naman ang alam kong team dati. And from 2000-2002 Laker Fan ako, pero after that, until now, I just stick on one team.

Kayo din ba naging bandwagoners at least once in your life? NBA-wise.

Is it just me or talagang nakakairita minsan if not palagi ang mga bandwagoners?

    Paborito ni gonefishing 'to.

Been a Portland fan since Drexler era. I admit to following the Bulls and cheering for Jordan, but since he retired I've been pretty much rooting just for Rip City.

Spent a couple of summers in Norman, Oklahoma back when I was in high school (and almost applied to OSU - I already passed the preliminary requirements but decided to go back home to the PH)... but no matter how I try to attach myself to the Thunder, I just can't make myself root for OKC with a passion like I do for the Blazers. It's a mystery to me how bandwagoners do it.

But after they decimated that lineup, madaming nawala as Bulls fan. Although I was more of a Rodman fan.

Since then, I looked for a team to support. I tried supporting the Raptors dahil kay Vince at dahil madami ako relatives sa Toronto. That was short-lived kase wala sa team yung passion ko.

When the Nets drafted K-Mart, I decided to become a fan of the Nets dahil na-feel ko na they're destined for something good. Well what do you know? They soon traded for Kidd and had those complementary pieces. It was an amazing couple of years.

When they broke up the lineup, I remained a fan. Yes, kahit nung halos ma-break nila yung pinakakonting panalo in a season. Why? Saka I've always felt na they're destined for greatness. Lalo na nung inannounce na lilipat sila Brooklyn. Now, I'm proud to say na I'm a "Fan Since Day 1" of the Brooklyn Nets.

Sure, I've supported other teams, but mainly because they have former Nets players. I've supported Dallas last year because I wanted Kidd to have his ring so badly. I supported the Nuggets in the past and the Clippers this year because of K-Mart. I don't believe that makes me a bandwagoner. I'm also an NBA fan so I'll support whatever team I want to kapag booted out na yung team ko.

Well, how do you define 'bandwagoner'? If your team gets eliminated in the playoffs, does that mean your NBA season ends as well? Just don't claim to be a true-blue fan of that team kasi obvious na bandwagoner ka lang.

Like myself, I'm a Celtics fan. When the C's got the boot last year, I rooted for the Mavs in the Finals but ofcourse I didn't claim to be a die-hard Dallas fan.

Kailangan ikaw ang makisama sa kanya not the other way around.

Tapos yung idol ko naging executive of the year. Panis!!!

Support kayo kay his airness.....

    --------

Nagchampion ngayon heat sigurado marami proud to be pinoy ngayon. Parang pacquiao lang.

Player fan lang ako not much team based - most of the time playoffs lang napapanood ko dahil sa school

1st nba game napanood ko sonic vs jazz playoffs 96- naging fan ako ni Malone, kahit natalo sila agad lol , i sticked with them till 03

03-04 season 1 year Laker dahil sinundan si Malone for his 1 ring... FU Rapist Kobe natalo sa Pistons .....

04-05 wala , selection process pa ako

06 playoffs - Start being a LeBron fan yun nilampaso niya sila Agent 0 while playing with terrible scrubs

Finally naka 1st championship experience rin yung sinusubaybayan kong player after such a long time

    +100

From 2002 na naging superstar caliber na si Pierce to 2005-2007 na mediocre to worst and performance nila, again umangat uli sila from 2008-2012 with 5 straight Division titles and 3 Conference and 2 Finals Appearances.

Bandwagon fan since the late 80's..thanks to the hype from Media

from Bad boys of Detroit to Jordan Era to Olajuwon to Spurs 99 to Kobe-Shaq Era to Spurs (Parker+Manu) to Lakers again to Boston's big 3 and to Heatles!

kidding aside.. not fan of team but more on player from Jordan, Shaq and LeBron. i appreciate basketball talents and skills coz' im a player too.

2003-2004 Pistons Fan ako (Bigshot, Rip, T.Prince, Sheed and Big Ben), dun ko nakita yung team chemistry ng isang team. Usually nasanay tayo sa 1 or 2 Superstar Team, and after ng Jordan Era, humina ang East Conference, from the San Antonio or Lakers lang nag cchampion puro West till 2004.

nakapasok sila playoffs, umabot ng game 7 against celtics, experience is the best teacher... time talaga ng Boston yon. Pero *** laro ni D.rose that time as in WOW! .. rookie of the year ba naman e..

kaya malungkot lahat ng Bulls fan this year, na ACL, 8-10 months nwawala(surgery at rehab) .. but still team to beat sa future eto.. bumalik lang confidence ni D.Rose oks na ulit

Laker fan since late 1980s. When you get to watch on TV Larry and Magic duke it out in the NBA Finals as such a young age (that Finals was my first exposure to the NBA), the memorable scenes in that Final series (plays and brawls) really ingrains in you what it means to be an old school Celtic hater

There's definitely a special and unforgettable feeling of validation of being a diehard fan of a specific NBA team when you finally get to watch a live game inside the team's homecourt arena. Call it a "final rite of passage"

Only time I'll root for specific teams is if my Lakers got booted out in the playoffs

And found it easy to root for a team because of the team itself not because of a particular player because I've always been a strong believer of team-based dynamics whether it's in sports, business..etc.

I'm a fan of players, not teams. So if my favorite player transfers to another team, does that mean I'm a bandwagon fan because I followed my favorite player to his new team? Either way, I've been a CWebb and LeBron fan, so:

CWebb fan from '94-98 Bullets/Wizards to his glory days in '98-'05 Kings

LeBron fan '03-'10 Cavs to '10-present Heat

Obviously both of them didn't win any championship until LBJ got his this year, so once they get booted from the playoffs from time-to-time I pick a team to "side with" to keep my basketball fan viewing alive - so I guess this is the real meaning of bandwagoning? If it is, then I must admit I "sided" with these teams before:

    Bulls - '96-'98 (MJ)
    Lakers - '00-'02 (Shaq)

I watched the Bulls-Jazz finals games with my dad, I had a soft spot for the underdogs even as a youngster so I rooted for Utah, been loving the team since. You can say I'm often times a Spurs "bandwagoner" until TD retires, I have so much respect for that player.

"bbbutt, bbut, Deron Williams is with the Nets now"

exactly, no matter how I try, I could really care less about the Nets, whether they find success or not. Wherever Deron goes, I wish him well, but I could really care less if that team succeeds or not. If he goes to LA or Miami, well, time to give up this username.

I find blatant image macro use after 2006 more annoying.

Anyway, I cheer for any other team that I find appealing or the lesser of the two evils whenever the Mavs go fishing.

  17. #17
    ^Same sentiments

Here are my most loathed teams that I always root against in the playoffs this past decade:
    1. Wade's Miami Heat
    2. LeBron's Cleveland Cavaliers
    3. Los Angeles Lakers
    4. C-Webb's Sacramento Kings
    5. San Antonio Spurs

with the addition of teams that eliminated the Mavs.

Even if Deron does a Kidd and bring success to the Nets?

    Player fan also here.
MJ fan since 90's until he retires tapos di na ko masyado nanood ng NBA until napanood ko yung Sacramento Kings w/ C-Webb and start watching NBA again and rooted for SAC from 00-02 then LBJ arrived in 03 and since then I've been a fan of him.
