This is applicable to everybody, not just to artists and celebrities.

Sure. As soon as they find time off from partying and travelling to acquire an interest in your equally exciting life.

Btw, in case they do ask, do you have certification on "good upbringing"?

See, you can discuss the social reasons behind this, instead of the showbiz aspect, as has been done in the thread.

    With Dolphy you can't.

i long for the old times when we used to have different shows for each day

local TV has been saturated with daily soap operas for so long already na pare-pareho lang ang kwento at pa-iba-iba lang ang pagkapackage depende sa flavor-of-the-month artista o sa mga reality show cast-offs

Philippine TV programming lacks creativity and innovation, that's my biggest problem with it. it's hard to be entertained when the shows are merely vehicles for loveteams and future politicians.

IINM, a LAFI thread should have a link to an article for it to be considered a Local or Foreign issue. (I'd reference a LAFI mod saying this kaso disabled a search function ng Pex.) Bahay_Kubo's thread was purely his own take on how these TV shows contribute to Pinoy mediocrity or whatever the hell the point he was trying to make.

Sabihin na lang kasi ng deretso na the mods agree with the topic posted in order for it to be retained in LAFI.

You know that part about threads being about what mod agrees with is simply not true .

The thread you're referring to is a sticky. I leave threads open because sometimes it's more about what we think can generate a good discussion about politics and such. Sometimes, unfortunately I'm proven wrong.

I'll think about the point you're trying to make, though. It's a good one and worth the time.

Besides, I think when you're young it's healthy to try new things out as long as they're not illegal. These are memories you'll hold on to the rest of your life.

My only concern is that some of these shows take time off reserved for school. To be fair, though, some shows are quite particular in addressing the fact that kids should be in school instead of being in game shows.

The TS' premise is that shows like these are caused by or the cause of Pinoy mediocrity.

Para namang pauso ng mga Pinoy ang mga show na ganito at hindi patok na patok ito sa less mediocre countries like the US and the UK? Nabawasan ba mga scientists and professionals sa US and UK because of Dancing with the Stars or American Idol?

Purpose of this thread is for the TS to whine about his personal shortcomings in life. To make himself feel better about his mediocre life, he needs to put down an industry and an entire nation. Pagbubuhat ng sariling bangko dahil he doesn't have the looks nor the talent to even attempt to make it in those shows.

Walang link yung TS, thread is based entirely on his observations and opinions, and the thread is obviously flamebait. And it is still here in LAFI instead of in LMTV or Small Talk.

kuroi: Amen! Sharpen all those talents that you posses, put them into good use and you'll earn respect in a way.

Papi: TS has a habit of looking down at the masses instead of helping/educating them and thinks of his opinions too high. His conscending attitude irritates me...a lot!

Good thing we have cable channels na maraming choices na channels. But for the local scenes, balita na lang pinapanood ko

And face to face ni tyang amy

at saka gumawa na si ADMIN Nakura ng thread sa GMTV at inilagay pa niya sa Suggested Topics na matatagupan sa LEFT SIDE

magulo kasi GMTV FORUM kaya hindi sila makapost dun
