    Hiphop: Lyrical

1st love ko talaga ang Hip hop and techno
ok siya kasi upbeat and mabilis, though before
ang naging disadvantage lang sa style ko is sabog yung energy
na nabibigay ko dahil sa upbeat, nahihirapan ako sa control
naging waterloo ko ang timing and control...

until nadiscover ko yung artistic way ng hiphop, yung LYRICAL HIP HOP
What makes lyrical hip hop unique is yung body movements mo e nagtetell ng story to the lyrics of a song which requires proper control and isolations. Hindi
yung basta ka na lang magpapakawala ng energy, ok siya kasi talagang matetest yung body control mo with regard to transition, di mo kasi siya ihihit hard unlike pure hiphop, sa lyrical dapat free flowing pero may swag.

laking impluwensya din ng STYCD sakin kasi napaka inspiring ng mga lyrical hiphop nila, from then on naging fan na ako ng LYICAL HIPHOP

one of my favorite lyrical hiphop pala
intense to masyado, ramdam mo talaga
yung emotions in a hiphop way

I really love Street Hip-Hop. Feeling ko kasi I have so much energy within my body waiting to be released on the dance floor especially if the song/dance is really that groovy and upbeat. I like doing variety when doing hiphop, yung di lang basta kanto pero meron pa ring lambot ng katawan.

Also, I think I am that competitive and frustrated when it comes to dancing.

I like the feeling of almost losing my breath. Nevertheless, I still need to have control on my groove when doing hiphop para narereserve ko pa rin yung energy at di kaagad hihingalin.

Now, my challenge but I really want to master is the Urban and/or Lyrical hiphop as well as the Latin (ballroom), which I got to embrace in the long run after watching Street Dance 2.

    Ballroom: ARGENTINE TANGO

The Standard Discipline was my saving grace when Latin Dancesport seemed to be too much for me to handle. I dabbled into a lot of styles and genres and I must say na marami akong gusto. I like ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern and of course hip-hop and the latin discipline. I like dancing and would like to conquer them as long as kaya ko...

Of course, mauuna talaga sa akin ang Latin Discipline as my favorite. The sultry flavor of Latin is extra special. Bawat sayaw may estorya. Cha-Cha is a flirting game, the Rhumba is the lover's game, the Samba is a fiesta extravaganza, the Jive is play of power and poise, and, of course, the Paso Doble is the matador and his cape. The intricacies of Latin Discipline took me even before I started dancing them.

Before Dancesport, I went gaga over Ballroom and became my springboard to Latin. Ballroom taught me grace and proper social decorum. Pero Dancesport elevated ballroom from a social dancing to competitive and artistic dancing.

Pero for me, the Argentine Tango stands out as a dance that I would really want to conquer. It has lot more of emotions and is more intense than the standard Tango. Mas passionate ika nga nila. Not to mention the out-of-this world foot work it entails.

Here's a sample of what Argentine Tango is all about Hope you will feel the passion and intensity of the dance and get to appreciate it with me.

    Question of the Week #2

What is your most unforgettable "dance" experience?

It may be an embarrassing moment on stage, dancing with a celebrity, a memorable comment about you, your shining moment,etc... Any moment that stands out among the rest and puts a smile in your face everytime you remember it...

  6. #6
when i approached someone in the audience and stared at her just to have a "dance filler" since I forgot a 4-count step in my routine. : )). kills me everytime. lol

This happened in one Dance Contest in our company. The previous group had a confetti and they were not able to clean it properly. In the middle of the routine, I slipped in the confetti strewn in the floor and I fell down. I dragged the person beside me as I fell down myself. I fell face flat on the floor while he fell on top of me. Our backs were against each other so it was difficult for us to get back up. It took us a good 30 seconds just to stand up. Needless to say, that "act" became my trademark in the office...

out of 17,000 all over the Philippines na nagaudition 12 lucky dancers lang ang nakuha at Congratulations kay RYAN SABAYBAY for winning the first Stardance search ng Dos (kahit mas deserving si DANIEL CABRERA).... nasan na nga ba siya

It was the time during a hiphop class in FF. The class/group was divided into two and the instructor decided to have a dance off.

When our turn was about to end, I just realized that I was the one dancing already in our group and the rest were unable to continue anymore. Maybe, because they were tired or they cannot go with the beat already or they have forgotten the steps. Then, I got surprised when the other group gave an applause after. I then felt ashamed, thinking nag bida bidahan na naman ako sa dance floor.

Finally, after that session, a pretty girl approached me while I was getting some water to drink. She then told me that I was great during the class. I thanked her but was so shy to introduce myself to her and get her name. I just said "see ya again!".

But, on the 7th, I might bring new breeds, mga dancer din dati, magaganda at sexy naman..
