    Getting married in the Philippines

Hi guys, sorry pero I don't know if there's already a topic about this but I've searched here and also I googled the steps I need to do after getting married in the Philippines pero I couldn't find the answers.

My boyfriend and I are getting married 2 months from now So I'm flying to the Philippines for us to get married and then..I will file for a petition so he can join me here. Currently, I'm a green card holder.

    My questions:
    1. After getting married, do I need to apply for name change agad for my Philippine passport? If yes, gano kaya katagal to? If no, hindi kaya maging problem yun kasi iba na last name ko but my documents state otherwise pagbalik ko dito lalo na pagdaan ko sa immigration sa airport?
    2. Kung matatagalan ang pag-change ng name, pwede kaya ako magpa-name change here sa US for my passport?

I hope you guys can help me out. I just don't want to mess up my stay sa Pinas by worrying about all these. Thank you in advance!

pag may marriage certificate ka na, which i heard matagal mo makuha, that's when you can start changing your names in your documents. kasi di ka naman ata basta makapag name change pag wala ka din supporting documents di ba?

Do you know that green card holder spouse petition takes 3-5 years to process? If you are going to be an american citizen soon, then just wait for it and get your boyfriend for fiancee visa which takes only around 6 months. Just saying.

but not all countries tinatanngap ang overseas marriage certificate..like here in AUS...kailangan mo pa mag-pa name change before ka makakakuha ng passport even my marriage certificate ka from PH

kasi sa PH marriage cert maiden name ang nakalagay..

^ Philippine passport pa din naman ata si TS so dito sa Pilipinas siya magpapalit ng passport. Kung sa US na siya magpapalit I believe kailangan pa din ang marriage contract.

kahit jan sa Aus at may Philippine passport ka, you still need the marriage cert from NSO to apply for a new passport with the new surname.

yung sa sister ko before, though working visa lang siya, it took her one year pa bago napasunod ang asawa niya. they tried applying for a visa agad weeks after their wedding lang denied yung asawa. kulang daw ng proof of their relationship. the consul asked for more photos of them together to show that they have been together a long enough time.

^ ah kung PH passport syempre PH marriage certificate ang kailangan...no need to acquire any special certificate for name change

kaya sa kaso ni TS I think ok lang kahit hindi muna sya mag-pa name change sa passport nya...enough na yung PH marriage certificate dahil parehong PH passport pa hawak nila
