"I think we are not worried, coz we're laging handa as coach roger said to us. And we trained everyday and I think we studied well the plays of LaSalle, their blockings and their defense. So I think we're laging handa na talaga." - Fille Cainglet

In fairness, I find it cute.

    Medyo OT pero puwede na.

"Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage."

    Yes. Comment nya yan.

Means she made that statement not as fan looking for a fix to her volleyball broadcast craving.

Means she made that statement as a member of a DLSU varsity team. A team whose raison d'etre is the UAAP.

Means she made that statement as a member of a team which has been invited to every conference of the V-League since its inception (even during the supposed lifetime ban).

Means she made that statement as a member of one of the most successful team in the V-League.

Means she made that statement as a member of a team not beholden to the organizer of the V-League due to the concession in the previous years of being invited even if not qualified.

Means she made that statement as a member of a team with other avenues of off-season training--which maybe not available to other teams--other than the V-League.

Means she made that statement as member of a team who learned from experience that the V-League is not the best for them. This is not to say that this statement is true for other teams.

So why did Mika made such a general statement and not qualify it? Because she was being interviewed by her school publication.

The problem is matchpoint.ph recycled the article for the general readership and sensationalized it by peppering the article with phrases like, ". . .raises quite a howl. . ." and, "This would be a little offensive to volleyball fans. . ." Of course those more impressionable, or should I say, gullible took these sensationalism and ran away with it.

P.S.: I share Mika's sentiment and so do most people I know.

comment lang regarding walang napapatunayan sa UAAP.....

ROY and main setter for the back to back champion team during her 2-year stint... ano pa ba ang kailangang patunayan ni Mika sa UAAP? Championship > individual award.

I predict she be coming from the Lady Eagles. Si Fille or si Gretchen kaya?

I disagree. She might not be the best setter, but she did contribute a lot for that back to back. Kahit na gaano pa rin kagaling ang coach, it is still the players who are playing inside the court.... the coaches can only help up to a certain point. For example, if the player doesn't show up for the practices or condition their body well or study well to meet the eligibility, it is not the fault of the coach. At the end of the day, it is still up to the player.

The fact that Coach Ramil put her inside the court, it means that she is the most qualified setter for the team. Yes, you are right that anybody can be a setter with the (season 73 & 74) team and win games.... but i doubt if you can win the championships.

If a ROY awardee is not good enough for you, then please spell out your criteria. Please don't give me subjective answers like maganda ang pitik, maganda ang fit ng uniform... maraming fans.... with pleasing personality.... maraming friends... etc
