You will be considered as transferee pag ganun and not as 2nd degree applicant. They're considered apart and totally different from each other. Tama ba ako maams and sirs?

One year lang kasi at decent naman yung passing rate (17 takers, 10 passed, 7 condi, according to SBMA) nung last batch ng UST BSMA na nagtake ng board exams na nagpatuloy sa LaCo. May kasabayan din kaming second-coursers galing Holy Angel University, UE at SLU.

As for other schools, eto yung mga narinig ko:
San Beda - 2 years to continue.
PSBA - According to a prof from PSBA na nagtuturo sa AMV ngayon, 1.5 years lang daw. Though di talaga ko sure kung totoo.
    FEU - 2 years.
UE - 2 years.

I'm a graduate from UST-amv management accounting Oct 2011 so nagwork muna ako after I graduate. Iniisip ko kaya ba sya na part time o mas maganda na focus sa studies? may balak kasi ako na ituloy yung accoutancy..

You get to choose your own schedule but the schedule available depends upon the availability of the professors and the request of the batch. Majority of the population of LCC-M Accountancy are UST BSMA graduates so they get to demand the schedule. Usually kasi inaayos ang schedule to accommodate review classes outside. However, there are a lot of things going on at this school. PM me if you're interested to know.

If you're going to enroll this incoming semester, try to ask Sir James Domingo to advise you and let you join the FB group of your batch. If ever, you'll be with the March 2013 MA graduates. I really recommend joining the group.

I also had classmates in LCC from the BSMA 2011 batch. Baka kakilala mo sila.

And one of the questions I asked was the length of time that a BSMA or FMA graduate would have to spend to earn the BSA degree. And I got the same answer- 3 sems or 1.5yr. TIP-M's policy naman for BSMA/FMA graduates pursuing BSA degree is 2 years. As in 2 tough years! =D
Oops sorry for the late reply. Di ko napansin agad. I might be too late but I'll just answer for the benefit of others who's interested.

The time you'll spend for the BSA degree usually depends on how many units will the school credit. Some schools have a minimum grade requirement for the units to be credited. I heard that in PSBA-Manila, the minimum is 2.5. So if you have accounting units with a grade of 3, you'll probably have to retake the course.

If you're a BS FinMan grad, chances are that you'll have to take up more accounting units and spend more time finishing the BSA degree. Some schools allow second degree takers or graduating students to overload units so baka pwede mapabilis.

For my case, BSMA to BSA at LCC-Manila, I took around 36 units or an equivalent of two semesters (plus one summer for the OJT). Karamihan minor subjects like Basic Grammar lol and Theology.

Thanks for your response. So how does LCCM credit subjects? Do they also have minimum grade requirement per subject in order to be credited or ok lang kahit 3.00? And how are the profs? I mean yung pagtuturo nila. Also sent you a PM. Thanks ulet.

    Replied to your PM.

LCCM doesn't have a minimum grade requirement but they'll ask you to take a 'Revalidation Exam'. The exam covers the 8 board exam subjects. When we had our exam, it had no bearing whether you pass or not. Kinda makes sense since we weren't given the chance to review and a lot of us failed. We took the exam during the sembreak. However, the last batch (BSMA October 2012) will take their Revalidation Exam this May and they are given a 2-week comprehensive review course to prepare for it.

Regarding the profs, well it's a relative experience. It depends on what teaching style suits you.

Ohhh.. And if you fail the revalidation exam what will happen?
Yeah, ur right, it's relative. What's the sense of paying them if that's the case.

I'm not sure the exam has bearing. They're quite unpredictable. Every year may bagong policy. About those professors, well just refer to the PM.

    Hi!

I'm currently a 3rd year student of University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu . 3 weeks from now Qualifying Exams or CEL na namin to proceed para 4th year, but they recently changed the dates of the exams kaya parang hindi ako makakatake due to some commitments outside of the country I have already agreed on way before they changed it. Ask ko lang po if I could proceed sa LCCM. And how many years or possible MAJOR subjects na kailangan ko pang kunin since if magiging BSMA na ako sa school ko, yung for BSA subjects na hindi ko makukuha ay Advanced Accounting 3 lang and the review subjects lang for 5th year plus I heard wala naman daw 5th year or review subjects sa ibang school. Also, I have no grade below 2.0 except for cost accounting 1 which na retake ko na and above 2.0 na yung grade. Thank you!

Yes they do. Most of non-metro Manila applicants are from Holy Angel University, Angeles City and SLU-Baguio. I've already taken the entrance exam but have not enrolled yet as I am still contemplating on which step should I take next. There are more incoming 2nd coursers from HAU this year than any other schools, I think. I saw them enrolling in batches. They were around 30 or even more on the day that I was there. UST 2nd coursers are not concentrated in just one school anymore. Others went to different schools like UM, CKSC, prolly a small number of them still chose LCCM, and others.

Regarding the rate of passing from BSMA to BSA. I should say 99%.
