hmmm... through audit, you will have access to different processes of different companies... its the best experience there is imho...on the other hand although, when you go private mas detailed/specialized ang processes... you will gain mastery over the procedures. Kung long term iisipin mo maganda nga audit... you just need to have the right form of motivation... long term investment kakalabasan mo dito... you'll be reaping your rewards after mga 3 years or so...

I will try to go private and have my masters...

undecided pa din ako to tell you the truth...

eh how about bussiness process outsourcing? anong experience naman ang makikita ko dun?

may client ako, bpo sya at out sourced accounting/bookkeeping nila... natrauma ko... I don't think they differ much, yun nga lang recording function sa kanila while audit does what it does... hindi sila pumupunta masyado sa client, although clients can opt to have it arranged. I mean, tipong in house na yung mga "accountants"...

isa pa sigurong difference ay yung tipong you will handle the client from period start to end... di tulad ng audit may certain point of time lang tayo nag aaudit... sila, though may iba rin client, nka focus sila dun sa buong fiscal year ng client.... that's what i heard...

    anyway...

im waitng for the call of RSBA within this week. grabe kinakabahan ako. kase sabi ng audit manager andami kong 5 ( which is limaang subjects) but i said, " Grades dont define me sir. Grades are mere numbers, they dont reflect the true value of a person. In considering decisions sir, we must also focus on qualitative factors". ayun, pumasa sana. hehehe. ive done 2 out of 7 interview already.

congrats ulit sa mga magooath taking mamaya =)

  11. #51
@imianmorales: Truthfully they give quite low starting salary at the accounting firm we're talking about, based on my experience at the least.

O_O I'm still waiting for the call from SGV. I already asked for an update just this Monday. Sabi daw they might be calling me this week from what I was told.

One thing these audit firms ask during their job interviews:

Are you fine with working Over Time?

Yes, you are probably aware of this prior to the interview... Naman, its the hype of audit... We take pride sa OT...

Opinion ko lang, they should have added:

"Are you willing to work over time? and Unpaid?"

worst case I had, I used my Sick Leave to accommodate work... and I was not alone... Mine was voluntary, I had to or work would have piled up on me... my colleague on the other hand was imposed to do so... hay privilege mo na, gagamitin mo pa sa work... think twice before you say yes... money is not a good motivation in audit... kilalanin nyo muna sarili nyo...

    yun lang... bow...

  13. #53
Thanks for sharing some of your insights, arjay_mg!

This is probably one of the reasons why I'm thinking twice before going into audit. But I think if you are the type of person willing to sacrifice these things for future growth. I would say those people should go for it.

I most probably go to private since I'm not as tough as people who last long in audit. Medyo laid back kasi ako at nakatikim na kasi ako what it's like working in private. It's more my style eh. )

  15. #55
Ang sagot dyan, yes sir. Tanggap ko na po yan. Wiling ako mag OT-Y FF - For the firm.

Well, life is unfair, get used to it...

@Mabs_Belle: You are also waiting for the second call from SGV? I'm also waiting for their call. I asked for an update from them earlier this week, they told me to wait for their call this week. Try to call their HR up for the update.

@emptybutfull: True. A
