Grabe last week pa lang ako nagumpisa maghanap ng work at naka 8 na ako na auditing firm. namely, SGV, Isla, Deloitte, KPMG, BDO international (auditing firm yan not connected to bdo bank), RF Garcia, Manabat Delgado, at RSBA.

so far RSBA pa lang ang nagtext sken for interview. nakakawala ng pag-asa. hindi naman ganun kababa board rating ko, having an 81 average. un nga lang mdyo madumi TOR sa PUP having five failed subjects.

nagiisa ba ako? anyone?

You're not the only one though I only have passed my resume in SGV, Isla Lipana, Deloitte, BDO International and P&A.

I didn't made the cut in Isla, sadly. As for SGV, I'm still awaiting their call after my initial interview. For the rest, no feedback yet. Don't lose hope though.

Hmmm... Ano bang manner of application mo? KPMG & SGV are the two that I know which prefer walk-in applicants... BDO, kelangan mo ng referral I think...

For Everyone's information, hindi naman required yung mataas na passing rate, sa BIG 4 Isla lang ang alam kong pihikan sa rating... the rest of the BIG 4 nag hihire ng mga tao even with 75% rating...

Nadadala sa interview yan... and credentials lalo na...

Lahat naman na CPA... pantay pantay na kayo nyan... hehe content nalang ng credentials and how you well you do with your interview ang tapatan nyan...

Sa future takers, siguro a week after the release of results, dapat mag apply na agad. lalo na kung alam nyo na dehado tayo... hehe ganun ginawa ko eh... di na ko nag hintay... sugod agad...

sir walk-in applicant po sa lahat. sa thursday (14) naman is exam sa SGV.

by the way. since beginner pa lang ako =) kinakabahan ako sa mga interview session na yan. scares the hell out of me sa mga pamatay na tanong. hahahaha

just relax and be yourself. dress properly and be in business casual or smart dressing. di naman yung naka suit ka tapos pawis na pawis ka . check mo na lang yung usual na dress code ng mga workers dun sa inaplayan mo. as for the interview not pamatay per se, all they'll ask about you is what you out in your cv/ resume and some not very personal. pakikingan lang nila how well you will respond and how honest you will be, baka puros bola ka. isipin mo na lang dean o prof kausap mo. i condition mo na ilevel sarili mo sa interviewer. be polite, shake hands and introduce yourself pag natawag na you.

hmm kung talagang ito na ang job na gusto mo punta ka sa mga call centers na malapit sa inyo, hehe mag exam and painterview ka lang para masanay ka. and if you feel you failed the interview, smile and shake hands pa rin and thank the interviewer. the last minute may be the most crucial part of the interview. good luck

@arjay_mg: There's a possibility that BDO International prioritize CVs with referrals? Hays... I got the feeling that Isla is really picky with their auditors. I think I did well in my interview with Isla but probably why I didn't made the cut was my grade in P1. ) Thanks for the additional information!

@iamianmorales: You can do it! Sa una talaga nakakatakot pero masasanay ka rin. And try to be prepared. If you are prepared, you will sound confident when you're answering questions. So far, unsuccessful pa ang job hunt ko. Nakaka-depress rin but we need to keep going in order to get the job we want.

Maganda sana talaga sa big 4 pero pihikan sila. KPMG naman balita na hindi ganun kabait HR nila. ewan.

Hi guys. Mahirap talaga ang application every May kasi hindi pa masyadong hiring ang mga audit firms. Hmmm, dapat sana after ng release ng board exam results nag apply na agad kayo kasi limited lang ang slots pag May at paunahan ang application nyan kasi first come first serve ang processing ng mga applications. Aun.. pero wag pa din mawalan ng pagasa I heard July/August pa talaga ang hiring nila.

-Sa REYES TACANDONG & CO., wala pang hiring ng auditors, sa Oct pa daw pero pwede na din magpasa ng CVs. Ang hiring sa kanila is *** IT Audit Dept.

-Sa P&A, wala ring hiring ***** sa Audit assurance. SA Advisory lang din ang may vacancy.

-Sa SGV naman, ang alam ko *** is walang available na slot for IT audit.

-Sa BDO, nagtext saken na hiring daw *** Advisory Dept. nila

its best you guys research about the company you are applying for. Know their clients. And sicnce parepareho industry ng mga auditing firms, be careful not to confuse one client (of the auditing firm) with the other's. Jan ako nadali. Lol... I read through SGV and KPMG's client and got them all mixed up... haha

pakita mo lang that your really interested in the job. lalabas na natural yan kung gusto mo talaga. Kung hindi man, you better lie good...

KPMG, ok naman HR dun. Lahat naman ata. First impressions lasts kaya dapat be disciplined. Avoid being late, be polite, dress appropriately. Longsleeves + slacks okay na... you might want to consider a tie kung lalake ka. hehe

most of all, know yourself. Ihanda na mga positive things na meron. Capitalize on your extracurricular activities (kung wala ka pang work experience). Emphasize on teamwork, how well you do under pressure etc. Yung ibang question will require to expose the negative side of you (they wont give any choice), be sure to turn it into something positive... yun lang maibibigay ko... goodluck po sa inyong lahat....

It's for their file. Quite a normal routine in all firms and companies, I think.

If you're interested, you could try applying in Millennium Business Services Inc. Though not audit, they provide accounting services for other companies. I applied there and they are quite accommodating. They will try to finish the processing in one day (in my case, though I finished all 3 interviews and an exam in one day). I got a job offer a day after.

gaano katagal? up to the point na sumuko na siya for auditing firms at naghahanap na siya ng work sa private firms. ganun po katagal.

wala na po siyang second interview eh. tinawagan na lang siya ng HR. ayun. hehehe
