That was great read coming from Loofee, Shoshin and sir JPM.

I have a question, what if Alaska will get the first pick in the 2012 PBA Draft, and Junmar Fajardo also apply for this year's draft (I will assume that JF will apply whatever the outcome what team will pick first),

    a. what will be the best move will Petron do to acquire the Kraken?

    b. will Luigi Trillo and the rest of Alaska team be negotiating with Petron?

    c. or Petron will shop their #2 pick to other teams to get a quality player.

    Thanks

100% agree. It just doesn't take away the notion of SMC going against national interest but moreso, it provides better opportunities for Fajardo, et al to improve their game further and make them more ready for the PBA.

Another option is for SMC to join the D-League themselves and challenge NLEX's supremacy. I actually love the rivalry because it provides for a lot of excitement in the game. If this battle spills over the D-League, you can imagine how intensely fought the games would be. Of course, SMC can always retain its ABL team as its a vehicle to advertise the beer brand all over Asia.

And yes, I don't care if SMC holds on to their own players in the ABL until they get the best chance of drafting them in the pros. So long as they're made available for the national team. That's really the bottomline there. NLEX may have the best lineup in the D-League today and I don't care if they retain Ellis, Hodge, Abueva, etc in their lineup. So long as they're made available for the national team.

I will let the PBA rules on drafting take over from there. So long as they keep on winning, RSA and MVP teams will have less chances of getting the top picks in the draft. Hence, they have no choice but to offer trade baits for these top picks. Which is the correct and legal way of doing things - other teams end up benefiting as well from such an arrangement. If there'll be some loopholes in the drafting, then this can be corrected along the way. But for now, I have no problem with this setup.

The future of Ellis and Hodge (as well as Ravena/Slaughter) will say whether or not MVP's camp is really hoarding or not.

agghh, he was also accused before of hoarding collegiate stand outs when he formed Gilas 1.

BTW, RSA = Fajardo and so MVP = Slaughter
RSA =Jeron Teng =and MVP = Keifer Ravena

    whose hoarding who?

Let's not forget the Bobby Ray is also under SMC's wing. His father is currently employed with SMC, the same with what NU did with Bobby before Rayray entered college. Rayray is also practicing with the SMB team of ABL.

SMC? really? Henry SY got that kid,

  15. #135
Bobby Ray might be playing for Henry Sy's NU at the moment but once he graduates who do you think will have the 1st shot at him? Dad is waiting with open arms. MVP also made an offer to Parks to play for Ateneo but I wonder what made him to accept NU's offer instead. Did Senior's post with SMC had something to do with this?

Actually that was my first insight about his situation, but with MVP and Sy on the knot, a big possibility of an alliance might be form business wise which can later on translate to basketball.

But still, Bobby Parks Sr. is with the SMC Corporation.

so to speak, waiting game ?
