Days before the application deadline for the PBA draft, top talents are throwing their hats into the ring.

Junemar Fajardo, a mobile 6-foot-10 center who spent the past season with the San Miguel Beermen in the ASEAN Basketball League, is the latest big name to join the draft.

The former University of Cebu slotman joins a crack list of homegrown talents that include San Sebastian stars Calvin Abueva and Ronald Pascual former SMART-Gilas standouts JR Cawaling and Aldrech Ramos from FEU.

Earlier, top Filipino-American prospects also joined the prospects’ list, including Cliff Hodge and Chris Ellis of NLEX and Alex Mallari and Keith Jensen of Big Chill.

Petron, which is also owned by the same San Miguel Corporation that bankrolls the Beermen, owns the No. 1 pick after a previous trade with Air 21, and will use it on Fajardo. SMC executive Noli Eala calls the choice of Fajardo a “no-brainer”.

Hindi na sila magsesecond round sa NCAA, leaving Sangalang as the only guy para sa offensive ng SSC-R? Or papatapusin rin nila yung second round, since mukhang after 2 weeks pa nung NCAA Finals ang start ng PBA, diba?

Papatapusin muna ang 2nd round. Unlike sa UAAP, ang mga taga-NCAA pwede na magpa-draft even while they're playing their last year. Pagkatapos ng NCAA, dun sila sasali sa PBA team nila.

This is why NCAA teams are handicapped sa PCCL. Kase na-draft na yung mga stars ng mga teams.

May mga ibang players in the past na porke na-draft sa PBA, eh naging matamlay na nung 2nd round. Halatang nag-i-ingat na. Haha! Iwas injury na kase PBA player na sila.

Kung si toro boy ang magiging coach ng PBB, sigurado third pick would be Tiu... Which is a good pick.. But I rather they pick Hodge then Taha instead of Fajardo..Sa akin I would prefer they use their 2 picks on either Taha/Hodge/Mallari/Tiu..

Masyadong overrated si Fajardo..Feeling ko parang masasayang yun pick.. Remember what happened to Eman ..SMB/Petron din ang kumuha sa kanya at kita nyo wala rin nangyari. It was only when he was traded to Alaska that a team was able to maximise his talent.

From what I see, PBB will draft Fajardo as the No.1 pick, then at the 3rd Pick they will pick Abueva or they may also trade it for future pick, but for me I'd rather pick Abueva for the 3rd pick simply because of his high energy on the court, the "angas factor" and he can be a good role player like Marc Pingris or Sean Anthony in the making. I saw him playing in the ABL and NCAA and I saw the desire on him to win every single game and that's what Petron lacks right now, a player who will give his all on the court .
