Noynoy to SWS: Ipaliwanag ninyo kung bakit bumaba ang rating ko!

Is this a prelude to a sky-high ratings for Noynoy next month?

Malacañang wants SWS to explain drop in PNoy’s ratings
    June 11, 2012 7:50pm

Malacañang on Monday said it would ask pollster Social Weather Stations (SWS) for a briefing on its May 24-27 survey that showed President Benigno Aquino III’s net satisfaction rating down by 7 points nationwide and 34 points in Metro Manila.

A drop in Aquino’s ratings–in surveys of both SWS and Pulse Asia–has been consistent since December, but the dissatisfaction rating in Metro Manila was “really very surprising to us,” said Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda.

“That’s something we cannot explain… You look at it… You look at the background of all the surveys being taken and suddenly you see a response which doesn’t seem to jibe with the reality under which the survey was taken,” Lacierda noted.

During the survey period, Mindanao gave the President a very high score while the power crisis was sowing outrage among its leaders and citizens, he said.

Still, the President’s ratings remain high and he continues to enjoy majority of public support, the Palace official claimed.

“A survey is a snapshot of a particular time. Regardless of whether it’s up or down, the President will continue to do his job of pursuing inclusive growth in the economy and our crusade in anti-corruption,” said Lacierda.

The SWS survey showed Aquino’s net satisfaction rating plunging to +42 in May from +49 in March. His satisfaction rating was 63 percent and his dissatisfaction rating was 21 percent. The survey had 1,200 respondents.

Aquino’s satisfaction rating was 68 percent last March and only 19 percent were dissatisfied with him.

His net satisfaction rating was on the decline since December 2011, with +58 from +60 in 2010 when he became President. —VS, GMA News

    hirap tanggapin ang reality?

    Palace surprised

Malacañang yesterday expressed bewilderment over the results of the latest SWS survey indicating a drop in the President’s trust and popularity ratings, from a high of +74 to a low of +63.

“That’s why we need a briefing from SWS. What we’re saying is that it gives us pause to see if there are certain realities... Is it consistent with the opinions of the people that were surveyed?” Secretary Edwin Lacierda asked.

The presidential spokesman cited the sudden drop in the satisfaction rating of Aquino within Metro Manila where he is most popular, while his score in Mindanao increased at a time when he was accused of ignoring power outages in the region.

“So these are things that, if you look at it, you look at the background of all the surveys being taken and suddenly you see a response which doesn’t seem to jibe with the reality under which the survey was taken,” he observed.

“But the thing that was really very surprising to us was the drop of ratings in the NCR, the dissatisfaction ratings. That’s something we cannot explain,” he told Palace reporters.

all the ampalaya posters have said time and again SWS surveys are rigged, unreliable and untrue - so now the same ampalaya posters are suddenly believing SWS surveys??? lol

when SWS surveys favor Aquino or not favor arroyo SWS surveys have no credibility! when SWS surveys disfavor Aquino or favor arroyo, SWS surveys are suddenly credible!

ano ba talaga mga koyah? ang plastik nyo! arroyong arroyo ang mga ugali nyo.

You know, there's only one reason why a private firm has to explain itself to Malacanang, and that's if that said firm is beholden to Malacanang. This is like Malacanang hypothetically asking Inquirer to explain why they continue to publish Amando Doronila's articles.

Another blonde moment from the Miscomm group. If they want the public to continue to trust the survey firms, they should stay away from stunts like these.

    so NOW it's reality?

weren't you one of those harping on how biased SWS is, how it's part of the yellow media? how in the world did they suddenly came to be the arbiter of the truth?

you must be fúcking kidding me - first, whining about CCT when you don't seem to know anything about it, and then this? pareho lang ata kayo nila PNoy eh, so biased. at least be consistent about it, no?

anyway, Aquino really needs to stop sitting on his áss, there's no excuse anymore - or is he going after GMA now?
