When I see an American show disrespect for old people.

I was watching a busy intersection near my bank, at the corner of Libertad St. and Calbayog.

Cars, jeepneys, motorcycles, tricycles, pedestrians, bicycles, buko vendors...

No stoplight, no crosswalks, no traffic enforcers....

    Amazingly,

No collisions, no altercations, none if a few beeping of horns.

It's like a rehearsed dance that everyone knows the moves of.

    when i traveled in palawan.
nothing man made, pure nature and on top of that i truly believe people of palawan wants to preserve their province.

my thoughts were " this is amazing place God created and it is in my birth country,Wow!!"

I would have answered "Jessica Sanchez", "Maria Aragon", "great beaches we visited", etc., but frankly, I don't need moments to make me feel proud as a Filipino. With or without moments, I am just proud of my roots, my skin, and who I am, a Filipino in every way.

Even though I consider the U.S. as home now, My continuous hope that the Philippines become a great Asian country/nation

...hope that Filipinos/Filipinas elect better Government Officials.

....hope that Filipinos/Filipinas strive for their own excellence and not just bank on other's achievements....

    defines me as Filipino.

nung kumanta si Jessica Sanchez sa laban ni Manny. Tska nung natalo si Manny pero sya pa din *** pinaniniwalaaang panalo hindi lang nating mga Pilipino kung hindi pati ang mga dayuhan na din. Filipino Pride

Sometimes, it's hard to answer this question without sounding racist.

when I see Filipinos still practicing our "old traits" especially bayanihan, here and abroad, and influence other pinoys to do so as well.

as of late, wala pa kong nakikitang ganito bukod kay Kuya Ef (Efren Penaflorida)

madami kase sa atin ngayon, puro salita na lang, wala namang ginagawa.

Recent development lang ito but I like it that people nowadays refer to each other, even among strangers as "Ate" or "Kuya". Respect is given by default.

    1. Kausap ko yung kaibigan ko na pinoy sa locker room, tapos may lumapit sa amin na mga eastern Europeans(mag utol), tipong powerlifter na hawig ni Fedor, sabi: 'You Filipino? When we came here to America we had no money, and a Filipino family let us stay for free and eat for free till we got jobs. They just wanted to help. I love Filipinos and I'll eat Adobo and lumpia everyday(think he was just caught in the moment).

That was awesome. The dudes would then invite us to play soccer/football every weekend. It turned out to be a bad idea as they were strong as hell.

    2. At the locker room as well. Some tall american guy na daig pa sa katawan at hitsura si Thor(no homo) heard me and my friend talking as well, locker room ulit. He told us 'What language are you speaking?' So we said "filipino.' Sabi niya 'Its such a beautiful language.' Of course I believed him. lol

Turned out he was gay and was flirting with us....well my friend actually, kasi moreno siya(hey, its ok,di na ako affected sa ganayan... ganun din naman kaming mga straight sa mga babae. Para-paraan)

Madami pa eh. Minsan mas maaappreciate mo yung bansa at kultura mo pag nasa abroad ka.

Wala ako maisip.I am not even proud of EDSA Revolution '86 anymore. Recently, may nabasa ako about the economy. It's not really a MOMENT pero i felt proud after reading the article.

    * By 2050, the Philippines will leapfrog 27 places to become the world’s 16th largest economy.

    you're not concern
when i went sa USA, sinabi ko sa isang mama dun na galing akong philippines.

tapos sabi niya "you filipino? oh i love filipinos. come to my apartment, you rest there before your flight back to sf. i don't want you alone in streets. i let you eat. i let you sleep. i let you take bath".

sabi ko "thank you for the offer that's generous. but i am alone please don't get offended.

sabi niya "ohh you are scared of me, no i am good. i just love filipinos so much. when i go to manila they treat me so nice so i want to return the favor. please you are tired. my brother's wife is filipina. please believe me".

    naniniwala naman ako. hahaha.

    Besides the food.....

    1. Knowing GAY MARRIAGE and DIVORCE (and all those other crazy sh|t in Western countries) is still not legal in the country. I don't think it will ever be legal (HURRAY!) Well, not really proud but thankful.

    2. As a person who loves the sport of basketball, kahit pandak ang lahi natin (aminin na natin), the country is never a pushover in international basketball competitions. Makes me somehow proud.

    1. Receiving smiles from random people.
    2. Being given a seat inside the bus.

Simple gestures make me really proud of our people.
