Gerald's younger brother set to enter showbiz

GERALD Anderson's younger brother, Kenneth Alex, has auditioned in TV5's biggest reality talent search "Artista Academy."

"Ever since na sumali si Gerald sa PBB (Pinoy Big Brother), I've always been in the shadow. I thought this competition will give me an opportunity to get out of that shadow and be the person I want to be," Alex said.

The 20-year-old, five-foot-ten Alex is one of the 11,000 showbiz aspirants who lined up at the Araneta Coliseum during the grand audition last Tuesday.

Alex, who is currently staying in Manila for almost three weeks now, tried acting workshops and classes in the States before auditioning in the talent search.

His brother, actor Gerald, also gave him words of encouragement in this decision.

"We talked about it. He gave me good advice; he told me to just be myself. I will work hard. I really can't say what I have or what I don't have; all I'm going to do is work hard if I get in this competition," he said.

After finishing high school at 17, Kenneth entered flying school in the US and is set to become a licensed pilot.

"I was the one who is supposed to go to school and finish college. At least one Anderson should finish college and that's supposed to be me, but I made this decision to join TV5," he said.

"If I don't make it up, I'm not going to be sad about it. I'll pack my bags and go back to school," he added.

When asked on the expected competition and comparison between him and his older brother, Kenneth said, "It is what it is (comparison). But between me and my brother, no matter what our work is, we'll always be brothers and we'll love each other." (Sunnex)

Kapamilya actors Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca are not only busy taping for their individual TV shows and shooting for Star Cinema movie "Crazy Love", they also took time to do a project that will show more of what they can do in terms of their acting prowess are concern.

The two actors lead the cast of independent action film El Brujo under the direction of Tikoy Aguiluz.

El Brujo, which also stars Bangs Garcia, is a fast-paced action film shot in different locations such as Subic, Olongao, Antipolo and Mt. Pinatubo in Pampanga.

MAKALIPAS ANG anim na taon mula nang siya ay tanghaling kauna-unahang Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition big winner ay muling pumasok sa Bahay ni Kuya si Kim Chiu bilang isang house guest para tulungan si Big Brother na alaming mabuti ang mga tunay na personalidad ng PBB Teen Edition 4 housemates.

Inabangan ng lahat ang muling pagbabalik ni Kim sa Big Brother House kung saan nagsimulang matupad ang kanyang mga pangarap sa buhay. Nasubaybayan noon ng mga manonood ang ilang mahahalagang kabanata sa buhay ni Kim. May masaya, malungkot, at nakakikilig na pangyayari na lalong nagpatingkad sa katauhan niya. As the Chinese Cutie from Cebu, Kim endeared herself to the viewers kaya naman matapos ang 42 days na pamamalagi niya sa loob ng bahay, she emerged as grand winner with 626,562 votes (41.4% of the total votes). She was the only housemate who was never nominated for eviction.

Nakakatuwang panoorin si Kim habang siya ay nakikihalubilo sa mga teen housemates. She was very natural na parang nasa loob lang siya ng kanyang pamamahay. As the “big sister” inside the house, Kim gave words of wisdom and encouragement to the current housemates. Sino ba naman ang pinakamahusay na makapagbibigay nito kundi ang isang taong katulad ni Kim who had experienced living inside a house where there are surveillance cameras positioned to watch her every movement aside from being prohibited to have any form of communication with the outside world.

Kim’s stay inside the house brought back happy memories not only for Kim but also for the viewers. It showed clips of a young Kim singing Peng You (Chinese word for friend) inside the confession room and her mission with fellow female housemates, kung saan nakatirintas nang kabit-kabit ang kanilang mga buhok while doing Kuya’s challenge.

Mukhang nanibago si Kim sa mga kabataan dahil sa kanilang mga kakulitan at kuwentong pag-ibig gaya ng isyu tungkol kina Yves Flores, Myrtle Sarrosa at house player na si Kim Balot. Kim is Yves’ girlfriend and best friend in the outside world while he has special feelings for Myrtle. Sinabi nga ni Kim na ang sitwasyon ng tatlo ay katulad ng kuwento ng kanyang pelikulang Paano Na Kaya. Who could forget her line from the movie, “Syinota mo ang best friend mo”?

Samantala, hindi nakawala si Kim sa panggu-goodtime ng mga teen housemates who played a prank on her. Nagpanggap si Myrtle na na-possess ng masamang espiritu na ikinabahala ni Kim kaya nang mabuko niya ito ay siya naman ang nagplano paano takutin ang mga housemates. Later that night, Kim played Sadako who knocked at the teens’ bedroom doors.

Nakalabas na ng Bahay ni Kuya si Kim at sa kanyang muling paglabas ay dala niya ang mga ‘di malilimutang karanasan na sa loob ng bahay lang niya maaaring makuha. Malayo na ang narating ni Kim sa kanyang career pero hindi pa rin niya nakalilimutang lumingon at dumalaw sa sikat na bahay kung saan nagbukas ng lahat ng oportunidad para sa kanya.
