iapoa (UAP) requirements for building permit

San kaya makakakuha nito?

if an architect has a good standing with the UAP, then there is no need to worry about the IAPOA certificate because their respective chapters will give it to them, right after they have paid their annual dues

required na pa ang IAPOA sa building permit? i thought it was only required for the PRC license renewal and board examination certification.

    Miletjs,

I PMed you the name of a Architect and her contact number that can help you with your IAPOA problem. Some municipalities required the Sign & Seal of an Architect with IAPOA.

    nakakatawa naman

if an engineer without an IAPOA could sign for permit drawings, why look for the IAPOA of an architect
maybe the municipal official is an engineer who wants you to slide a fee.

pero okay yan ... i thought we architects lost the RA 9266 petition in the Supreme Court making architects the exclusive signatories for the building permits.

tell your architect friends who does not have their IAPOA certificates to contact to their respective UAP chapter officers. normally, they will just ask you to pay your previous dues and to make the most of it attend your chapter meetings.

hi ts any updates on this? question on the iapoa... annual ito di ba? so if you didnt pay the previous years, are you gonna be imposed a penalty?

  7. #7
    annual, yes.
penalty, it really depends on the XO committee of your UAP chapter. the best situation, they may just ask you to pay your dues but some may incur additional fines.

you could try to get it at the UAP headquarters but they will only refer you to the current XO of your chapters.

Thanks! do i have to attend a convention or meeting for my iapoa dues to be payed or i can go directly to a UAP officer? becuase i need to have my license renewed as early as possible, and need to pay this iapoa.

  9. #9
    attendance is not a requirement.
yes, you could go direct to your UAP chapter XOs. there an official receipt and you may get the certificate within a week or a month.

but, the PRC requires you to submit all your 3 iapoa certificates. in short, you have to pay for all three fiscal year dues.

P.S. he he ... normally, UAP chapters have the iapoa dues, chapter dues, and annual UAP membership dues ... now, thats what you might cough up to get your certificate ... ha ha.

really? i was under the impression that the PRC only needs the reciept (or reciept #) to have the license renewed. tsk3...

  11. #11
nope, you have to present all three certificates and not the receipts.

thats why it is best to make full use of your membership by attending the chapters meetings. just imaging how much you have to shell out to maintain a "good standing" UAP status. since you paid for it anyways

ill see what i can do with this. i hope im not alone when i say that this is unfair. you are forced to pay for iapoa fees, forced to participate in "groups", when the law only requires the PRC arch license to practice your profession.

  13. #13
sorry but i think you are not updated with the UAP by laws. it often changes.

call it unfair but you would rip your brains out to know the UAP is tring to bring back the CPE requirements for the renewal of the PRC license.

alam mo ba kung ano yung CPE na yan? mas pabigat pa yan kaysa sa iapoa na binabayaran lang a dues.

yes i heard about CPE and "units" you need to earn question lang sir, whats driving this, is it politics?or there's too many architects now?...

  15. #15
    ".... mas pabigat yan ..."

    in short, .................. MONEY!!!
