Ghajini (Hindi: गजनी) is a 2008 Indian psychological thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Tagore Madhu and Madhu Mantena. The Soundtrack and film's score is by A. R. Rahman. It is a remake of Murugadoss's own 2005 Tamil film Ghajini starring Surya Sivakumar in the lead role.[4] The film stars Aamir Khan, Asin and Jiah Khan in lead roles while Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan essay supporting roles. The Tamil version of Ghajini was inspired by Christopher Nolan's Memento.[5][6]

The film explores the life of a rich businessman who develops anterograde amnesia following a violent encounter in which his love interest, model Kalpana, was killed. He tries to avenge the killing with the aid of Polaroid Instant camera photographs and permanent tattoos on his body.[7] The character of Aamir Khan also featured in a 3D video game titled Ghajini - The Game, which is based on the movie.[8] Ghajini is currently the seventh highest grossing Bollywood film according to worldwide gross collections. On release it became the highest grossing movie of all time until it was beaten by another Aamir Khan movie 3 idiots in the following year. Ghajini also holds the notable distinction of being the first movie to break the 100 crore barrier in Indian cinema.[9]

Om Shanti Om is a Bollywood musical film directed and choreographed by Farah Khan. It stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles while Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, and Kirron Kher feature in supporting roles. More than forty-two well-known Bollywood stars appear in the course of the film, including thirty of them (not including the stars of the film) in one song alone. The film is set in the 1970s and 2000s; it pays tribute to, and pokes fun at the, Indian film industry of both these eras.

It is inspired by Rishi Kapoor's 1980 Bollywood film Karz and borrows many elements from it, including the title of the film which is named after one of the songs "Om Shanti Om". Also for a brief moment Rishi Kapoor can be seen dancing to the original song.

The film was released in 2000 prints worldwide making it the largest Indian cinematic release at the time.[3] Om Shanti Om released on 9 November 2007 to mostly positive reviews from critics and record breaking box office collections. It grossed over INR 1.49 billion worldwide, thus became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all-time at the time of its release.[4][5]

Kal Ho Naa Ho (English: Tomorrow May Never Come) is a 2003 Indian romantic drama film directed by debutante director Nikhil Advani. The film was written by Niranjan Iyengar and Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar and Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. The music of the film was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar.

The film features Jaya Bachchan as Jennifer Kapur, Shahrukh Khan as Aman Mathur, Saif Ali Khan as Rohit Patel, and Preity Zinta as Naina Catherine Kapur. It also features Lilette Dubey, Reema Lagoo, Sushma Seth and Delnaaz Paul in supporting roles. The film narrates the story of an uptight student, Naina Kapur, who falls in love with her neighbour, Aman Mathur, a terminally ill patient. Meanwhile, Aman tries to play matchmaker for Naina and her friend, Rohit Patel.

Made on a budget of INR30 crore (US$5.43 million), Kal Ho Naa Ho released on 28 November 2003 to positive critical reviews. Additionally, it was screened at the Valenciennes, Era New Horizons, Marrakech International and Helsinki Film Festival.

The film was a commercial success, with a lifetime gross of INR77.95 crore (US$14.11 million) and emerged as the second highest grossing film, domestically and the highest grossing film in the overseas market, that year.[3][4] When adjusted for inflation its total worldwide gross is INR 1.3 billion.[5] The following year, Kal Ho Naa Ho won 2 National Film Awards and 7 Filmfare Awards.

    Critical reception

Kal Ho Naa Ho was well received by critics. Taran Adarsh gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and said: "Yes, Kal Ho Naa Ho does live up to the expectations. Yes, the SRK-Karan Johar magic does cast a spell the third time around. The film works, courtesy SRK's incredible performance and Karan's deft writing."[12] Archana Vohra from NDTV gave the film 3 out of 5 stars, stating, "Advani ... seems to have come up with an innovative way to present a done to death plot," later adding that "irrespective of the frills, fancy clothes and well-dressed stars, the film does strike a chord and is a brilliant debut by Nikhil Advani."[13] Rediff.com, in a positive review, wrote, "The film is fresh in treatment and storytelling. Shah Rukh excels as the supercool Aman. You understand why it is difficult for Karan to work with any other actor, because SRK steals the show with a designer-made role. Given SRK's performance, it is all the more important to take note of Saif, whose Rohit Patel will be remembered just as much as his Sameer in Dil Chahta Hai. Saif is first-rate, and your heart goes out to this under-rated actor. Preity Zinta slips into character beautifully. Right from the preppy spectacles to her no-nonsense demeanor, Preity captures the spirit of Naina Kapur. She has never looked so pretty. Kal Ho Naa Ho will carry you with its exuberance."[14] Mayank Shekhar in his review for Mid-Day gave it 3.5 stars out of 5 and wrote, "Yes, this is soft-focus, sweet background score, life is simplistic escapist cinema. But the bottom line: at the end of the day, it works and is worth your entertainment bucks. And thats saying a lot."[15] In a positive review, Dave Kehr from The New York Times concluded, "This is a rich meal that may best be reserved for stomachs accustomed to such bountiful fare."[16] Komal Nahta from Outlook, in a three-star review, remarked, "[writer] Johar has packaged the drama so very contemporarily that the final product holds its own. Undoubtedly, [the film] is one of the cleverest love triangles in Hindi cinema."[17] Ziya Us Salam wrote for The Hindu, "Watch Kal Ho Naa Ho. It is like life. It gives you reason to be disappointed, just as it gives you reason to hope."[18] In a four-star review, Jitesh Pillai of Filmfare wrote, "Anyone (which means almost everyone) who has loved and lost will recognize that Kal Ho Naa Ho is a bittersweet valentine to unrequited love. Nikhil Advani makes the sensational debut that other directors only dream of."[19]

The film also received some mixed reviews, Ram Kamal Mukherjee from Stardust praised the film's performances, technical aspects and its entertainment value, but noted several flaws in its "logistic part".[20] Rama Sharma from The Tribune concluded, "Kal Ho Na Ho is a usual filmi love web with a cosmopolitan appeal and a lot of comedy packed in the first half."[21] Jami Bernard from New York Daily News wrote, "Bollywood musicals, those big, loud, colorful extravaganzas from India, are an acquired taste and much of "Kal Ho Naa Ho" doesn't translate easily," though he further noted, "All three leads grow on you."[22]

Anupama Chopra, in a positive review, wrote, "Advani, who learned family film formula with masters Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar, emerges as a distinctive voice with his first film. Written by Johar, the film revisits old ground-NRIs, wedding song, snazzy club number and Shah Rukh-but also evolves the formula. It has technical pizzazz (split screens, in-camera dialogue) and an urbane wit despite snags like sub-plots with pat endings or a lame pre-interval portion. The dialogue by Niranjan Iyengar is perfectly pitched and the performances uniformly good."[23] Chopra included the film in her list of "Top Ten Movies of The Year", ranked fifth.[24]

    Box office

Kal Ho Naa Ho was the second top-grossing movie of the year. It had a total nett gross of INR 35 crores in India alone, and was declared a Hit. It also made an additional INR 12 crores in the USA and INR 9 crores in the UK and thus collecting a total of INR 27 crores from the overseas market. The film became the top-grossing Bollywood film abroad that year. Kal Ho Naa Ho made a total of INR 77 crores worldwide.[3][4] When adjusted for inflation its total gross worldwide is INR 130 crores.[5]

    ============

Krrish ([ˈkrɪʃ]) is a 2006 Indian science fiction superhero film directed, produced, and written by Rakesh Roshan, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rekha and Naseeruddin Shah. It is the second film in the Krrish series, being the sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya, and relates the story of Krishna, the son of the previous film's protagonists, who inherits his father's superhuman abilities. After falling in love with Priya, he follows her to Singapore, where he takes on the persona of "Krrish" to keep his identity secret while saving children from a burning circus. From that moment on he is regarded as a superhero, and must later thwart the plans of the evil Dr. Siddhant.

Krrish was conceived to be a film of global significance and a trendsetter in Indian cinema, with visual effects on par with those from Hollywood. To that end, the effects team was aided by Hollywood's Marc Kolbe and Craig Mumma, and the stunts were choreographed by Chinese martial arts film expert Tony Ching. The music was composed by Rajesh Roshan, with the background score by Salim-Sulaiman. Filming was done to a large extent in Singapore as well as India. The film was released worldwide in June 2006 at a cost of over INR45 crore (US$8.15 million) and on 1000 prints, both near record amounts for an Indian film at the time.

Krrish received mixed reviews from critics in India, but was widely appreciated by audiences, who gave it a record opening week at the box office. The film became the second highest earning Indian film of 2006 and grossed a worldwide total of INR117 crore (US$21.18 million). It was given a "blockbuster" rating by Box Office India. The film won both the National and Filmfare awards for special effects, while actor Hrithik Roshan received praise and numerous best actor awards for his role. The third film in the series is currently in production and planned for release in 2013.

    Box Office

Krrish had a good opening week,[50] and tickets were reportedly selling for many times the original cost at some locations.[51] Total gross collections were an Indian record of INR41.6 crore (US$7.53 million) (INR29.7 crore (US$5.38 million) nett) for its opening week.[52] Krrish became the second-highest grossing film of 2006, earning over INR69 crore nett in India alone, and was classified as a "blockbuster" by Box Office India.[53] It also grossed $4,320,000 in the overseas market, where it was declared a "hit".[54] The final worldwide total gross was INR117 crore (US$21.18 million).[2] One week after Krrish was released, another superhero film, Superman Returns was released in India. Rakesh Roshan stated, "I was a little skeptical that Superman might hurt me, but fortunately it didn't." In fact, Krrish fared better at the box office in India than did the bigger budget American film.[28]

One of the best Bollywood Sci-Fi movies I've ever seen (the other one is "ROBOT"). Comedy+Family Drama+Romance+Action+Fantasy <--- alll in one.

Ra.One is a 2011 Indian science fiction superhero film directed by Anubhav Sinha and starring Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Armaan Verma, Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswami and Tom Wu in pivotal roles. The story follows Shekhar Subramanium (Khan), a game designer who creates a motion sensor-based game in which the antagonist (Ra.One) is more powerful than the protagonist (G.One). The former escapes from the game's virtual world and enters the real world; his aim is to kill Lucifer, the game ID of Shekhar's son and the only player to have challenged Ra.One's power.

Ra.One originated as an idea Sinha got while watching a television commercial. He expanded it into a script, and approached an interested Khan with the story. Principal photography began in March 2010 and took place in India and the United Kingdom. The post-production involved 3-D conversion and the application of visual effects, the latter being recognised as a technological breakthrough among Indian films. With a budget of at least INR125 crore (US$23.63 million), Ra.One was one of the most expensive Indian films at the time of release. A further INR52 crore (US$9.83 million) was spent on the marketing, which included a nine-month publicity campaign, brand tie-ups, merchandise, video games and viral marketing.

The film, initially scheduled to release on June 3, 2011, was delayed by the extensive post-production. It also faced controversies involving plagiarism, content leaks and copyright challenges. Consequently, Ra.One was released on October 26, 2011, the beginning of the five-day Diwali weekend, in 2D, 3D and dubbed versions. Premieres were held in Dubai, London and Toronto between October 24 and 26. The film witnessed the largest international theatrical release for an Indian film as of 2011, and was preceded by high audience and commercial expectations.

Upon release, critics endorsed mixed opinions of the film, with general praise for the visuals and music, and criticism of the script and direction. Commercially, the film became the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2011 and broke a number of box office opening records. Box office website Box Office India deemed Ra.One a domestic "hit" and overseas "super hit". The film won numerous awards for technical aspects, notably one National Film Award, one Filmfare Award and four International Indian Film Academy Awards. However, it also received dishonorable awards like "Worst Film," namely two Golden Kela Awards and one Ghanta Award.

Another "Kabitan" Movie. This was so far the very interesting kabit-movie i'd ever seen so far. You might get up from your seat when you watch it.

The married girl is having an affair with her ex-boyfriend.

    Genre: Heavy Drama-Thriller

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Murder is a 2004 Hindi erotic thriller film directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Mallika Sherawat and Ashmit Patel in lead roles, and is set in Bangkok, Thailand.

The film was the breakthrough role for Emraan Hashmi'. The film got an A certificate from the Indian Censor Board for its bold subject and scenes.

    Reception
