    Transferring to CSB BS-Archi

Hi. I'm planning to transfer to BS-Archi for their 2nd trimester and I was just wondering if it's hard to get into that course? I'm actually pretty good at math so I can show that during the entrance exam BUT on my transcript, my math 1 & 2 and physics 1 & 2 is like a C or C+ because well, I txt too much during class and yeah.. profs didn't like that so my grade suffered. I'm just worried, I REALLY want to get into this course. So, is it hard?

I plan to transfer at DLS-CSB as ABMMA. I need advice please.

Hello, I am planning to transfer probably next year (2013) to Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts (ABMMA). I was supposed to enroll this july but got delayed because the money I was supposed to use for my study got borrowed by my brother for a more important matter. So right now I'll be saving again so I could enroll for the next batch. My problem is I don't know when it will be. After July, Do you know when do they usually again accept application? or can I also just send my application this July and just enroll and get the Entrance Exam (BEE) next year?

I am also really interested with their SDA Scholarship, I'm a freelance graphic designer who do digital designs, from illustration, logo, website interface and some video editing. If I show them my portfolio, Do you think I have a chance in getting a scholarship? How much money do I save when I get a scholarship? And Do I have to maintain some grades for it? It would really help me if I can get a scholarship because the money that I'll be using for my tuition is my hard earn money.

And lastly, Speaking of how much, How much does the course totally cost? It said to their website that It cost P2,000 per unit I calculated the total unit of the course and it sum up to 210 units. that means 210 units x P2,000 = P420,000(roughly). Some also say P58,000 per term and I think it has all in all 11 terms, that means 11 terms x P58,000 = P638,00(roughly).

I would really appreciate your response. Thank You!

Try to contact the Admissions Office about your inquiries regarding transferee exams, etc. as well as the Student Grants Office with regards to scholarships. They'll give you a more clear explanation. Applications for the BEE starts around August, with the entrance tests happening from October until the first quarter of the next year.

As for the tuition, it really depends on how many units you're taking per trimester. For regular students, their tuition will definitely start at around Php50,000 per term mula freshman year nila but as you progress, the costs significantly decreases as you take fewer and fewer units per term. During my last year in CSB, I was taking less than five classes so my tuition was more or less around Php40,000.

Normally, we're not allowed to overload or underload our units per term until later on. Transferees could be an exception especially if CSB is able to credit classes you've already taken in your old school which have an existing equivalent subject being taught in our school. Hopefully, some of the Pexers here na transferees talaga like Altar_Boy could give a more cohesive explanation (although hindi siya MMA).

Thank you j5bata, Really appreciate your response. Yes, i've sent them an email last friday and is just waiting for their response.

I hope someone here could also give me some insights about their SDA scholarship on how it works and how it could benefit me.

j5bata, I'm interested to hear your experiences as Multimedia Arts student in DLS-CSB? Can you share some? Are there struggling moments for you, what were they? and any heads-up advice?

Well, I actually had a lot of fun pursuing MMA. Yeah, there were hardships and all, especially the loss of vital sleeping hours, but I really took it it all in stride. Best way to really overcome MMA is you have a lot of friends who are taking the course with you. Be it your batchmates, your senior upperclassmen or those younger than you. The course practically forces you to work on your own, encouraging to find your identity within the program but at the same time, there's this challenge to work with others as a group.

Thesis is the rite of passage for every college student who's in the home stretch of their college life and the course is no different. If you have a lot of big ideas for whatever thesis project and output you're going to do, the course allows several "tr-medial" outputs for you to perform.

The only advice I could give you is to enjoy what you're doing as an MMA student. It's the best way for you to survive.

    Transferring

Hello, I'm a transfer applicant sa CSB and hopefully eh makapasok this coming 2nd term.
Kaso, I'm torn between the two programs offered by the college, namely ABANI and ABMMA.
I hope someone enlighten me about sa dalawang program na ito before I submit my application form.

    Question:

    1. I'm actually leaning more on ABMMA since based on the curriculum, the revised one, (the subjects listed in the 2012 brochure is not updated btw. ) we get to study and work on different mediums and programs making us versatile artists later on. Kaso, baka naman the program is spreading itself too thin, hindi naman kaya?

    2. I'm also interested in ABANI since mukhang mas specific yung approach sa degree na ito. Kaso I also want to learn more about Graphic and Web Design.

    4. Kamusta naman ang entrance exam sa CSB?

    Salamat sa sasagot.

up to when ang entrance exam sa CSB?

    Thanks

I am planning to go to CSB tomorrow. Well actually to La Salle but I don't know if they'll be accepting my transcripts. Crap. I have some failing grades and some unofficially dropped subjects. I don't know if they'll accept me though. Anyway I am planning to take up a computer related course there although I think I'll be bored. I wanna take up something that combines arts and science. It's either film making or multimedia arts for me.

So I guess I should just enroll in CSB as a transferee? Do you think they will accept my grades? Well let's just say that people change... Like wanna go back to school and study. Lol.

College transferee here. If someone can accomodate me later... Please do so.

Hey, guys. I want to transfer to CSB next term (3rd term) kaso I don't know how it's supposed to work when I'm coming from a school with a semester system. So freshman ba ulit ako sa CSB when I transfer? Or pwede pa din ma-credit yung ibang subjects ko? And I'm having problems with my grades. May mga FDA (failure due to absences) ako and dalawang failure which I'm taking up this sem. Tumatanggap ba CSB kahit may mga failures? Please help. I really want to take up MMA at CSB. Hope you guys could help. Thanks!

I applied a few weeks ago sa CSB. Dipende yun. Puro NFE for No Final Exam at UD for Unofficially dropped. Technically transferee ako pero considered as first year ulit ako.

3rd sem starts Jan. 07, 2013. Yung enrollment between Dec. 03-06, 2013. First batch ng entrance test, Sept. 29, 2012.

So temporarily nag production design muna ako.

And yung entire first year, most of the subjects minor. So ma-credit yun for sure once nag transfer ka to MMA.

Do they accept students who stopped before the end of first semester of their tertiary level but wish to apply in your school as a freshman? If yes, then what are the requirements?

First of all, the mods might ban you for spamming messages in multiple threads.

With regards to your question: Did you file a leave of absence before formally dropping out from your first school? Although the circumstances you're in would probably complicate your application to CSB, I think Admissions would probably still allow you.

If you were to meet the requirements (which you can check out on the school's website) and able to pass the entrance exams, you will probably have to retake everything from your first semester. One PEXer I know had the same dilemma (although not as complicated as yours). He was accepted but had to retake minor classes that he already passed during his stay in his previous school.

I didn't file leave of absence. I just left the school and didn't go anymore.

If that's the case you have to go to your former school to know what's your current status there and if you are eligible for transferring into another college/university.

Ganun nga po. Sige po I'll do that. Thank you po for answering.
