    and i luv it
I tried and I tried and I tried to read it... dropped it after a few chapters...

I'm sorry I just don't enjoy the way it's written.
call me a hypocrite if you must.

A lot of people criticize it for the way it is written. You're not the only one.

I think people are reading it because everyone is reading it and they're curious about it. It's not really because it's well written.

Only on Chapter 10 of the 1st book. I was intrigued when my GF said, Christian Grey reminds me of you in bed...minus the BDSM.

Was amused at the reaction of the Pexers. The books are erotica, what do you expect?

Initially, I felt EL James was too teeny bopper-ish describing Anastasia. I had a lot of images of her in my mind. Isla Fisher minus the blond hair came to mind due to her clumsiness. Leighton Meester came to mind, when she started removing her clothes. Her image stuck with me as I read. Grey brothers were Liam and Chris Hemsworth. Chris being Christian. When I read books, I always try to create an image of the character in my mind. After the 5th chapter, James I felt was a literary genius. She helped make it easier for me to picture the story. I'm already on my 3rd day but I'm only in Chapter 10. When I like a book, it takes ages for me to finish.

Here is what fellow Filipino booklovers have to say about 50 shades..From the recent Filipino Reader Conference

    http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story...shades-of-grey

    And I quote:

"Readers who were familiar with icons of erotica literature like Anne Rice's “Sleeping Beauty” trilogy and Pauline Réage's “Story of O” contended that “Fifty Shades” did not live up to their expectations."

we have all 3 books and my 12 y.o. tried to read the first of the series.
i dont censor my kids books, actually,i leave them alone and ask their opinion of any of the book they read so i can correct any misconception they pick up.

and she said,"i got tired of the book bec someone is having sex every 2 page!"
hubby and i had a good laugh about it

meh. not really my cup of tea, but i did read all three books. i just skipped most parts (too much sexing going on, it was nauseating already. dragging, redundant. i wanted to get to the bottom of it already). unfortunately, not worth the hype for me. different strokes for different folks, i guess.

i was more interested with the mr.grey-mrs. robinson angle though hehe.

still stuck in the middle of the first book, and i bought the 3-book set. di ko gusto personality ni anastasia. parang napaka-shallow. i perfectly understand na immature pa sya pero wala pa kong nagugustuhan sa character nya para majustify ang pagkahumaling ni christian grey sa kanya. nakakailang "i'm not hungry" na sya so far. ayoko sa mga taong hindi mahilig kumain. feeling ko anorexic sya. even kate's character seems more interesting for me.

i'm not a stranger to reading romance with erotica (first time to try bdsm scenes though) but this is indeed badly written. judith mcnaught writes so much better than this. she can even make rape seem romantic. i've read better mills & boon/harlequin romance novels that cost 20 pesos at booksale with the token 3 sex scenes. i think i'll try anne rice's sleeping beauty books instead if fifty shades continues to bore me. will probably donate all three books to charity

hello! If meron po may e-book copy nito..please pa-pm po. salamat! Curious ako kung sa reviews niyo

Curiosity got the best of me so I read the 1st book, went on with the second hoping it would be better but now I've totally lost the drive to read the last one. If there's one thing I'd like to do though it would be to bi*ch slap Anastasia's 'inner goddess'

try epubbud for free ebook download..

I got curious about the book so downloaded the 3 books of grey and read them...have to say that I skipped a lot of the pages (particularly relating to s*x parts...hahaha...not my cup of tea) but I enjoyed the dialogues between the various characters and of course the narrative of Christian Grey at the end of book 3...…

After these books, got hooked to -

    1. Bared to you and Reflected in You - Sylvia Day's version of 50 Shades ( currently waiting for the 3rd book Entwined with You)

    2. The Lost Angels series of Heather Killough-Walden (currently waiting for the 3rd book Death's Angel)

LoL! This rant made my day. I read 50 shades reviews on Goodreads for kicks. A lot of seriously laugh-out-comments out there.
