    I am a TAXpayer!

Squatter = BOBOTANTE... simple as that.

If the vat is the basis for the equal taxpayers concept then why those employed gets their salaries taxed?? That can be considered double whammy!! tax na sa sweldo tax pa sa binibiling may vat....so those squatters should not enjoy equal rights as those that are paying taxes twice!!

Besides, all opportunities to better oneself is found abroad, not here where the local elite who owns everything is also as stupid as the masses and doesn't know how to manage labor and assets for the betterment of the citizens.

Just like saying "Those who have less in life should have more in law".

Take away someone else's right to vote? Then we've already sold our souls to the devil.
Very ideal if I will have to say something about this....the opportunity is everywhere...its just a matter of diskarte!! ones success is not being relied to someone else....if they want to be somewhat successful in life then they should strive...kaso maka encounter lang ng mga problema sa buhay give up na....madami namang mga nagstrive sa mga province and they stay there kasi may mga prinsipyo sila sa buhay na wag maging palamunin sa iba....

The law is equal protection of right of everyone...why should us taxpayers sacrifice the benefits fitting us for those we see as not worth it????

kung bibigyan ng priority ang properties (especially land properties) then it empowers the land owner to protect his/her properties by any means necessary.

ninanakawan ka na in broad daylight, lantaran, bibigyan mo pa ng benefits ang mga magnanakaw. you do not pamper these squatters, you shoot them when they get within an inch of your property!

eh anong nangyayari? nagkaroon na ng barangay so-and-so dahil feeling untouchable ang mga squatters, at the expense of the government and the rightful owner of the property.
The stupid lina law is protecting them from being prosecuted and so as well as our do gooders asswipes of politicians....we aer wasting so much money on these people where it can be used for relation project..give them source of income in provinces where there numbers can be used for labor forces...problem lang talaga is the political will at yung mg anagkukunwaring makamasa at human rights advocates na mga plastic pa sa orocan at tupperware....

to be honest.. talaga lang... hindi naman bagong problema ang squatter sa mundo.

Modern european societies today used to have the same problems. Even the US had that problem in their history.

Yung property tax and siyang nagbabayad ng basic city services like Pulis, Bumbero, Water pipes and sewage, and basic infrastructure (roads, bridges... blah blah).

dadami pa yan dahil gusto nila maghariharian at pinapayagan naman.

Housing law misconceptions resulted in failure to resolve squatting–former senator

MANILA, Philippines – Former Senator Joey Lina on Thursday said misconceptions arising from the understanding of the Urban Development and Housing Act (UDHA) resulted in the failure to resolve the proliferation of illegal settlers in the country.

Lina stressed that one of the misconceptions lay in some sectors’ belief that “a right to housing is a right to free housing,” saying that nowhere in the world was free housing provided by government for the homeless.
“Right to housing may be a right to lot only or house and lot, but never free,” he said.
Lina also emphasized that it was wrong for people to “construe consultation as consent,” and that illegal settlers’ possession or use of property for a long time did not translate to ownership.
“After all the parties have been heard in a consultation, it is still the government that decides finally,” he said.
Lina, however, stressed that if relocation and eviction was the last resort, the government must exhaust all alternatives to relocate the settlers near their job sites before moving them out.
