5 reasons NOT to migrate to the USA

    Source: http://www.forumcash.com/wordpress/f...te-to-the-usa/

    1 – Inexpensive labor.
It’s probably the only place in the world where paying for household help doesn’t cause a major dent on the wallet. I come home from a long and stressful day at work and I only have to worry about my children and how to spend the rest of our waking hours. It’s the only place I know where I can indulge in little luxuries on a regular basis. These things, I need, to preserve my sanity!
2 – Financial independence, a reason no more.
The US economy has been in a slump for quite sometime now. So the financial perks of living there, no longer exist as much as they did years ago. I’d rather stay here and have a solid support system around like family and friends.
    3 – Crime
I never fail to read the news, local and international. I don’t see any difference in the crime trends here and in America. In fact, I’m more scared of the kind of crimes that exist there.
    4 – Weather
It’s weird enough nowadays, with global warming and all. But I’d rather deal with typhoons than add tornadoes, hail storms and the like.
5 – The absence of a support system
I’ve always had very close familial ties. Leaving the Philippines would also mean, leaving my immediate family behind. It’s never an easy thing to do for anyone. I belong to a very small family and therefore, find it hard to imagine myself anywhere else.
Is life in America for you? It could be, but not for me.
Do you think these are VALID reasons?

What are YOUR reasons for staying in the Philippines?

Oh di dito lang kayo. Sino bang pumipigil?

    I call that slavery.

    That's always up to you.

    Depends where you live.

  8. #8
    My reasons:

    1. I worry about what I'm going to do for a living when I get there. I'm the type of person who if I don't like my job nagsasawa ako at nawawalan ng gana, then nalulungkot. In the career that I really want to have, competition is very fierce dito pa lang sa Pilipinas. What more sa states pa where there is that disadvantage of being a second class citizen.

    2. My mom is in the U.S. Okay I love her to death but me and my mom when we're together physically we clash all the time. I feel guilty for saying this but I can't stand being with her everyday na kahit isang buwan lang minsan nga kahit isang linggo lang na araw-araw ko kasama nagiging allergic na ako sa kanya If I do decide to live in the U.S. I'll probably have to eventually live separately from my mother.

However, lately I've been thinking... and with the situation here in the Philippines nowadays, migrating is becoming more and more attractive to me. So, who knows? Maybe when things fall into place and I see a happier future there, I'll go.

    No reasons to leave.
Got a decent job, a place of my own, and can go places i wanted to.

Funny pa, pag hablot nung itim, eh bumagsak kasi napigil nung earphone wire, sabi lang nung itim "oh, I was just kidding", tapos casually lang bumalik doon sa upuan.

    About the author's reasons:

    1 – Inexpensive labor.
Well that's true, sa US, you need to pay per hour kung gusto mong may mag nanny sa mga anak mo, unlike sa Pinas, kahit 4 na katulong, kayang kaya mong paswelduhin.

2 – Financial independence, a reason no more.

    3 – Crime

    Funny right?

    4 – Weather

5 – The absence of a support system

Siguro, kung wala na kaming stable source of income dito, stay na kami sa US for good.

Perhaps, we just got lucky, having the best of both worlds.

ang siste ba eh kapag may bansang taliwas sa "5 reasons NOT to... " na yan eh magiging "5 reasons you HAVE to" naman ang kalalabasan?

I agree, palagay ko diyan sa author, US immigrant yan, na mas piniling manatili sa Pilipinas.

Kaya meron siyang mga reasons not to migrate because he has options, kasi kung wala ka namang access sa US, hindi "not to" yun, it's just, you don't have a choice but to stay in Pinas.

  16. #16

  18. #18
    Ano bang pinagkakaguluhan nyo dyan?

  19. #19

I beg to disagree with you. Case to case basis yan. Well, sa mga independent people, that's not always the case. There are a lot of opportunities in the US as long as you have the ability to work hard and THE RIGHT ATTITUDE! Then and after then you will be rewarded with the fruits of your labor.
