    Isla Lipana or Manabat Sanagustin?

Hello PExers! I would just like to seek for your advice. I'm a recent passer of the CPA May 2012 board exams and am now hunting for a job. My current offers are:
    • an Assurance position in Isla Lipana (PwC) and
    • an Advisory position in Manabat Sanagustin (KPMG).

Now I'd like to know which of the two would turn out to be better for me. I'm really interested in Advisory, and based on my interview with KPMG their Advisory division is really good. I'm more inclined, though, to joining Isla Lipana but unsure as to the quality of their Audit division as compared with other firms (because I have no idea).

I do hope you guys could help me out with this. I'm really interested in the experiences and learnings I would gain from my future job, and not much about the salary. Many thanks!

    Hi!
As far as I know, PwC is a better option. Isla Lipana is like SGV.Heavy workloads. But it has better working environment than SGV.
Congrats! Isla Lipana is very very picky with their auditors.
    Good job!

By the way, my nephew is applying for KPMG. He's currently weighing his options since he has health issues. How long was the whole application process? From the walk-in, interview, etc. Thank you!

Thanks for the advice 2011 Topnotcher! The KPMG application process consists of an examination and two interviews - one with HR and the other with the Partner/Senior Manager of the division you're applying for. It takes approximately a week to go through all these and receive the results of your application.

Hello, fellow May passer! I apologize for hijacking your thread but I would really like to ask how many interviews you have to go through in Isla Lipana and how long the whole process as well?

I received a call from them and I'm scheduled on Friday for an exam and interview.

Similar with that of KPMG - an exam and two interviews. As for the length of time, it depends on the availability of the Partner/Senior Manager who will be part of your 2nd interview, so it may take longer.

    Your welcome!
After the initial interview and assuming you passed, will they immediately give a schedule for the next interview?
    If not, how long?

    Thank you!

di ka pa nagsign? go for isla na! haha

well. i only had the opportunity to talk ng masinsinan with pwc audit associates. sabi nila, their training is really good and they are happy in what they are doing. sa kpmg kasi, i have a friend in audit and he complains at times sa kanyang ginagawa. well, siguro normal yun. pero based from what i heard so far, okay talaga sa isla. they know how to take care of people kaya siguro mamomotivate ka magwork hard and para di mo mafeel na mabigat trabaho mo.

If I were you, I'd go for PwC!
Im currently a 4th year BSA student (2nd degree) and based from various blogsites Ive visited so far, I havent heard of anything bad about PwC. Even interns would tell you that PwC is really good in terms of training and in taking care of their employees. At first, I only know of SGV as the best acctg firm among the big 4 here and abroad not until I did research. Since then, I longed to work for PwC. I will actually do my internship there by summer of next year.
