    To Bongbong, Joker and Miriam:
Thank you for giving us hope and showing all is not lost. We know its very difficult to stand for your principle when popular opinion is against it. For that, I really admire the 3 of you.
    moral turpitude?

    did you mean uprightness?

last time i checked turpitude refers to depravity

abangan na lang natin ang mga bubuwit na magbibigay ng 'espesyal na balita' kay bahay_kubo. kasi ilang araw pa bago matapos ang impeachment nagmumura na siya sa 'result' eh. and he even accurately predicted the actual number of senators that would vote for conviction.

    A travesty of justice!

You're a disgrace to your profession as lawmakers. Dapat hindi kayo lawbreakers.

You're an insult to the intelligence of thinking Filipinos.

    May your tribe not multiply.

Lahat yan sabi ni or implied by Mirriam. Many of us happen to agree.

Ang layo-layo nyo sa kalidad ng mga jurors sa Edward's case sa US:

"Edwards had been charged with conspiracy, four counts of receiving illegal campaign contributions and one count of making false statements for allegedly soliciting and secretly spending over $925,000 to cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter, a campaign videographer, during the 2008 presidential election. He faced up to 30 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines if he had been convicted on all counts.
The jury began deliberations on May 18 after a month of testimony that covered the sordid details of Edwards' affair with Hunter, the elaborate cover-up and campaign finance law.

Prosecutors said Edwards knew exactly what he was doing in 2008 when he used nearly $1 million in campaign funds to cover up his affair with Hunter.

Lawyers for the former presidential candidate claimed the payments from Mellon and trial lawyer Fred Baron were intended as personal gifts, not political contributions, to shield Edwards' wife from learning of Hunter's pregnancy with his child. Elizabeth Edwards, who was battling cancer at the time, died in 2010.

The defense argued that while he may have been a "bad husband," he did not violate any federal laws.
"This verdict reflects the struggle that this jury appears to have had in finding some clear cut evidence of criminality," Robert Mintz, a former federal prosecutor and partner at McCarter & English, wrote in an email. "Despite the government's best efforts, the defense was able to appeal to the jurors' sense of fair play and justice even when dealing with an extremely unsympathetic defendant whose credibility was severely damaged by his own conduct."

"However morally reprehensible the conduct [was] here," Mintz added, "they could not agree that it added up to a criminal violation."

in the case of corona, malinaw nagkulang talaga ang depensa. even jpe said that before corona testified, the score seemed close. most likely corona would have been acquitted.

we cannot blame some judges (except b. drilon. b as in biased pero pwede rin baboy ) if they are not lawyers and have a hard time understanding legalities. the law is the law and mandates that the senate, whoever is sitting there, be judges during the trial of corona.

the defense should have done a better job in explaining simply and thoroughly what their point is.

I am dismayed how Enrile admired the reasoning of Lito Lapid on how he arrived on the guilty verdict -- a Senator admitting that he knows nothing about the law, when in fact it is his number one job to create laws, and of course to know the laws.

I heard Lapid saying he is at the Senate to represent his class (high school level/grad). The fvck, he should be at congress with as a party list representative if that is what in his mind. Oh well, this is the sorry state of our Philippine politics.

I think the senate should remain as the higher house, elected per region and minus the pork barrel but should have higher qualifications, to make it true in its sense as the house of wisdom.

The entire impeachment trial is just a farce.

My message to Senators, so far Enrile, Estrada and Angara have said that the ex-CJ has been punished enough, my message:

Sa inyo kasi, bale wala ang loot ni ex-CJ na $2.4m (ang tira-tira lang) at P80m ay barya lang. Pero sa naghihirap na mga tao, karampot lang nyan ay malaking kayamanan na.

so why not prosecute further the ex-CJ and why not forfiet ill-gotten wealth? What he and children cannot explain, the government should take. He should go to Bilibid for perjury, and for any crime that would be discovered, because the money he pocketted could only come from criminal acts, that is my opinion.

After the voting result, it only show that sayang lang ang pondo ng taong bayan to maintain two seperate legislative body.

may criticism sa senate ng foreigners kung bakit hindi elected by district ang mga senador na iyan, unlike the us senate and advanced western countries. they don't represent specific geographical constituencies, unlike the us senate.

sayang ang pera sa pagbayad ng suweldo at pork barrel ng senador. hindi na kailangan ng congress made up of the senate and the house. dapat isa lang tutal parehas namang walang prinsipyo iyan.
