    Question Transferring to CSB! :)

Hi guys! I just have a few questions about transferring to CSB!

1.) I'm planning to transfer this coming second term, but do they allow transferees in the middle of the year like that?

2.) If by chance I do get accepted in CSB, I plan to take either Human Resource Management or Film...but the thing is, I have little idea on either of those courses. T_T Anyone care to enlighten me on the two courses?

    Thanks in advance!

I can share with you what I can recall about my course, Human Resources Management. It is a mix of psychology and business management. Here you will develop a keen sense of awareness of managing people, analyzing organizational behavior, culture that defines a company, how to apply mediation in conflicts within the organization between employees or superior-subordinate and applying the labor law if your employees violate beyond company policies. You gauge performance, morale, attitude, and train people under you. You not only act as a boss, but become a mediator, coach, and psychologist.

WOW....that was...probably the best answer I could have ever gotten! Thank you so much! HAHA. I found out that yes, CSB allows transferees in the second term, so my only problem was the course, and I think I just got a good answer.

In your opinion, AltarBoy^_^, would you recommend your course? Did you enjoy it, or think it was worth it?

For me it is worth it because my business is in Human Resources deployment (locally). If I didn't have a business that is related to that course, I would probably be in Business Management, Political Science/Law, or Music Production. Hell, I might be even studying abroad!

I would recommend it if you know yourself to be a people person and loves the social dynamics in an office setting or beyond. You enjoy sharing and learning with co-workers, promotes teamwork, develop skills in them and develop skills yourself in the process of effectively achieving company goals, values business ethics and implements good qualities of a personnel manager. In a way, you gauge other people for a certain job but you have to gauge yourself first if you love what you do. Besides, HR Mgt is a stepping stone for some that would like to enrich themselves further with an MBA. If you graduate, you'd be in charge of filtering job applicants for a company for starters.

If you choose this course, you will learn the 3 M's of Management: Money, Material, and Manpower. Of the 3, Manpower is the most volatile because you deal not with manufactured goods, or funds, but the interaction of personnel that will help you be better as an Employee or train you as a Manager. It's an essential ingredient but you will learn that there's more to it. Some are bred to be manufacturers, some in money, but there are some who deal with people. Are you up to that task?

I wish I knew more about Film but I'm more in love with Music Production, if only I could go back in time and the course was available when I was still in CSB.

Best of luck to your chosen course! I advice you to make the most out of your stay in school and be wise enough to apply what you've learned!

MMA grad here so technically I cannot give you as much details with Film although it's pretty much similar to the the "film aspect" of my course. Digital Film, or any SDA course for that matter, requires an open-mind, open to new ideas and techniques since the standards dictated by the industry you want to be a part of is always ever changing. It also requires camaraderie with people you are going to work with in the future.

Isa sa mga naging prof ko under MMA is also a professor in the Digital Film program. What he teaches us in video production, he also teaches with eh ABDIGIFILM crowd but with some added extra "hot sauce". He always try to instill the kind of work ethics in his students that could help them become efficient members of a working production team. Kahit school project lang iyan, he will make you work as if nasa set kayo ni Ishmael Bernal na kailangang gumawa ng pelikula in less than a day's time (DOOMSDAY).

The question now is: Saan ka mas nagli-lean. HRM and ABDIGIFILM have its own set of strengths and weaknesses so you have to be certain that the one you chose is the one you want to pursue all the way.

    Cheers!

Hi! I don't want to make another thread because this is also regarding transferring to CSB. I'm planning to transfer to BS-Archi for their 2nd trimester and I was just wondering if it's hard to get into that course? I'm actually pretty good at math so I can show that during the entrance exam BUT on my transcript, my math 1 & 2 and physics 1 & 2 is like a C or C+ because well, I txt too much during class and yeah.. profs didn't like that so my grade suffered. I'm just worried, I REALLY want to get into this course. So, is it hard?
