Countless OPM bands are out there grinding out gigs somewhere in the Philippines every night. The big names like Sandwich, Pupil, and Rico Blanco will average 3-4 gigs a week. There are also many, MANY other great lower-tier bands who are, or try to be, just as active as the big names. So they too are gigging somewhere tonight.
The problem is that the recording industry is on life support because they missed the bus on the internet, and the entertainment/showbiz centered media industry is more interested in who Derek Ramsay will date next and if Rhian Ramos will ever forgive Mo whatshisname than the next Imago album.
So if you want to hear OPM band music, you can't expect the media to spoonfeed it to you. You'll have to go out and get it. But they're out there, and very much alive.

Opm is still alive. Try visiting the sites Bandcamp, or Vandals On the wall. You'll find lots of good unknown opm bands.
