He's giving a false sense of security to foreigners. It's like those "sharks are people too!" videos. It gives surfers a false sense of security. They ignore the warnings. When they get bitten by sharks, they cry and say "I thought it was safe!". Well f*cking duh??!!

I've seen enough white people on youtube tied up, crying, begging for their lives. I don't want to see any more of that sh*t. Videos like this serves nothing more than self-serving "look, I'm doing something extreme!" bragging rights. When they're captured. It hits the news and it puts Philippines in negative light once again. All because of this st*pid white guy.

I think pinoys are safer to travel in that area than foreigners. Just stay far away from white people or chinese tourists. Everytime they capture white people, the pinoy they capture along with them are immediately killed because there's no reward money for them.

Yes, he's still alive. The dude actually raises money for his foundation that digs drinking wells (with pump) in several public schools in Mindanao so that public school children will have water to drink in school.

He's making a series of personal videos of his adventure in order to help generate public awareness to his foundation.

yeah! chyng reyes,or riandrew in PEX, i read her blog about Basilan and saw the pictures grabe ang ganda ng beach sa Basilan. seriously, yung mga magagandang beach at falls nasa Mindanao.

meron pang isang pexer na nagpunta sa Basilan and Zamboanga si granslime, ayos din yung falls na pinuntahan nya sa Basilan, atapang atao, solo pa siya nun ha.

Mga dude, lagi kaming napunta ng Basilan... Taga-riyan ang Nanay ko. Yung paring hinahanap ng mga sundalo sometime 1998? Nagtago sa bahay ng lola ko noon. Hehehe.

At mga pagsabog at patayan dun? They're all part of people's daily routines. Yung mga more tensioned areas, haharangin mga civilians most of the time. There are checkpoints left and right.

The Basilan beaches are beautiful and all, pero even within the city you can still smell trouble.

i've never been to basilan and i don't think i would ever wanna be there. i don't feel i will be able to relax even with the nice beaches. i hope the government acts on this soon. sayang naman resources ng basilan.

I think it's Zamboanga that the government needs to protect. This predominantly Christian city doesn't want anything to do with Muslim separation kaso napapaligiran sila ng mga Muslim provinces. Para silang Israel.
