THQ Chooses Today of All Days to Fire Employees, Close Studio
On the very day the deal was publicly announced which saw the rights to the UFC franchise pass from THQ to EA, the former has reportedly closed its San Diego studio, which was last responsible for WWE All Stars.
Kotaku has heard from some affected that, yes, most employees were informed of the decision today. The first day of E3. About as busy a day in the games press as you're ever going to get, meaning it's as good a chance they're going to get of burying the news under a flood of trailers and game announcements.
The studio had apparently been working on THQ's next UFC game, which is obviously no longer needed.
We've contacted THQ for confirmation, and will update if we hear back.
UPDATE - THQ has confirmed the closure, telling Kotaku:
THQ confirms that today's announcement regarding the UFC license transition will affect the company's San Diego studio. THQ is working closely with those relevant staff to either find possible employment within the company, or potentially with EA.

Nintendo's subdued showing and the open question of the Wii U
http://gamasutra.com/view/news/17186..._the_Wii_U.php
Watched both Sony and Nintendo's live conference online. I missed Microsoft. Sony's presentation was better than Nintendo. If I'm going to buy a game from them I think I'll go with Sony.
Pangit dahil di nilabas ang prototypes ng PS4 at 720.Sa Nintendo naman di inaanounce ang exact release date ng Wii U!
I watched the Xbox presentation yesterday. I like the whole Microsoft approach with smartglass.
Of all the previews I think I liked the new Splinter Cell. The Last of Us's actual video looked great (I saw the preview six months ago and one of the few games that I actually am excited about). The new Forza looked good.
Resident Evil looked "overly cooked". The gameplay look blah. It's not scary anymore. Oh wait the last game ended up in a volcano battle after a plane crash.![]()
