DLSU - Performance in the board exam (Jan to May 2012)

Sa nabasa ko na mga post dito sa LS forum may mga alumni or posters that think la salle is doing worse in the board exam lately. Since tapos na naman ang first half ng board exam for 2012, I am posting kung how does dlsu's rate compare to other schools.

For example sa CPA board how do we compare with UP, UST, San Beda PSBA. How about sa engineering board exam, how do we compare with Mapua UP Adamson UST. Sa teachers board how do we compare with PNU, UP. Here are the results.

As probably expected UP is tops sa board examination. In some board exams, La Salle manages to be at par with UP. DLSU has a very good % passing percentage in the CPA, Teachers and Real Estate Broker examination. However, the number of CPA board takers (40 only) is low as compared to what we have before. (5 to 10 years ago).

As to eng board examination, La Salle has a better than average passing percentage but there is a lot of room for improvement. The difference in passing percentage between UP and DLSU is about 15 %. UST also a very good school comes in close to DLSU's passing rate. Mapua is probably reinventing itself since the passing rate is being pulled by repeaters.

It seems like La Salle is doing good in some board examinations and doing bad in some eng board examinations considering that this is "our" board season. For La Salle to offer scholarships in engineering is a good move this year. Based on the 50 scholars (public school students), there were about 20 UP eng passers who are set to join the frosh this year in DLSU. This does not include the star scholars and the Gokonwei scholars this year. We will see the results in about a few years if we are able to increase our passing rates.
