After doing Rippetoes for a solid 6 months and have gained solid mass, do we do bodybuilding routines to get the cuts and definition?
Thanks.

eat sensibly to burn the fat.
I prefer density training and/or complexes forprograms when fatloss is the goal
remember, cuts come fr a low bodyfat percentage

i like how you emphasized solid massif you still progressing with rippetoes than why change :L)
Is powerlifting enough to get the typical model like physique (6packs and ripped) when cutting down to 6-8% bodyfat? Or, is it all genetics when it comes to aesthetics?
Thanks.
There's a lot of genetic variance. In my case, currently I don't think I would look model-like if I dropped to single digit BF%. More of an athlete/boxer physique. Hence my recent addition of some bodybuilding/hypertrophy/isolation stuff on top of the regular flat bench/squat/deadlift/weighted chins.
Need to get my body aesthetics up to par with my facial aesthetics.
I see. What program are you on now?

^ you do know that you don't need to train like a bodybuilder to get learner..

Not exactly.
It's a full-body 3x5, plus 3-4 sets of 10-12 (with 30s-90s rest) after the workset ala Boring But Big, plus heavy weighted chins, plus direct biceps/forearm work.
It's been working very well for me so far, except that chest is lacking mass even though I am benching over my bodyweight for reps.
I might do something stupid like GVT for bench next month, just to see if that helps my chest aesthetics.
chances are you just need to use more volume and focus on the contraction rathee than the weight

That could be the case, hence the planned GVT (10x10). Obviously I will be using a lighter weight.

True that.
The fellow from Thor, uses only the basics - squats, deads, bench, rows, chin ups, dips, etc. to get this physique:
Getting cut/ripped is usually a function of diet - calories in and out. Bulk first, then cut and not restrict your calories and do weight training at the same time. You can't build muscle and strength this way. You need to pump the calories in, otherwise, it just won't work. You'll just look like a typical "gayish" fitness model, like this -

There's a lot of lighter weight category oly lifters that are ripped to shred. I don't think steroids are allowed though.
Not true. He was skinny before bulking up for Thor.Chris Hemsworth was already pretty built but gained 20+ lbs in 6 months, double what a normal noob human being can gain if they do everything right.
Some people do struggle with genetics.SS is great but let's be realistic.
They typically cast movies 4-6 months before shooting the first reel. The photo on the left is from when Hemsworth was on that Australian soap opera, circa 2005. He got bigger in the interim (he was kinda chunky in Star Trek), but not as big as he was on Thor.
I'm not saying you can't grow to Thor size using just the basic SS or 5x5 and without steroids because you definitely can. But it's going to take more than 4-6 months.
BTW Thor is bigger than a lot of "natural" bodybuilders.

when was powerlifting included in the olympics?
I know weightlifting is one of the events, not powerlifting
There is nothing wrong with aspiring to look like a celebrity. Just don't forget they have the time and resources to focus on training qhen they need to achieve a certain look. Us, in the real world do not have their luxuries so we have to take a different approach
