Shoes Rebranding

Hi guys,

I am new in shoe business. I just want to ask if any of you has an idea if we could probably rebrand the shoes we bought from our supplier. Like, changing the brand and name them as our own. However this supplier is not really the manufacturer of those shoes. they also buy them. Are we violating any laws on this?

yes. intellectual property rights of the oiginal manufacturer and their brand...

why rebrand? to fool the customer as if you are the one who created those designs?

madaming ganyan, lalo na yung mga brand galing china, pagdating dito, mahal na kasi branded na... why not go for a legit one? create your own design and brand...

Is the brand trademarked? If it isn’t, you’re free to do whatever you want with the shoe.

Is the brand currently present in the marketplace? If the brand is not being sold in the market where you intend to sell these shoes, rebranding shouldn’t be an issue.

I could be a bit more specific if you could name the brand, the type of shoes, country of manufacture and the name of the manufacturer. Having been in the branded athletic shoe business in the US, I may have a better insight on these issues. You may send me a private message if you don’t want this info made public.

I’m guessing that your buying volume is limited, hence the need to go thru a secondary supplier. I think it would make more sense for you to drop your supplier and go straight to the manufacturer where you could negotiate a private label deal for your own brand. As it stands right now, the middleman’s markup and the cost of rebranding is a margin killer, and you run the risk of shutting yourself out of the market.
