“Hers is a great achievement, definitely we will honor her," pagtiyak ni Belmonte sa media nitong Huwebes nang tanungin tungkol sa panalo ni Philip Philips kontra kay Sanchez.

“Being second is an excellent feat for a very young lady. I’m sure that her future is already made because she is fantastically talented," ayon naman ni House Majority Leader Rep.

Hindi man makapaniwala si Citizens' Battle Against Corruption Rep.

She did the Filipino race very proud," pahayag niya.

Pangalawa, mas malaki ang silbi sa buong mundo kung si Jessica ang nanalo because she will inspire more people in Asia and Latin America. Sayang. But she's clearly the bigger star now," paliwanag ni Quimbo. - RP/FRJ, GMA News

American Idol, may dalang Philippine Flag.

She's a member of an asian girl band in US called "Blush"

She's a pure filipino from Marikina City. Their debut single "Undivided" made me more amazed to Angeli because in the final part of the song, She had a line there "Mahal kita, Mahal kita" as well as her band mates saying 'I love you' in their own native language.

This asian girl band is now making hit in the music industry of US, pero I dunno kung bakit hindi ganun katunog ang pangalan dito most especially si Angeli Flores unlike Nicole Scherzinegr of pussycat dolls nung kasagsagan pa ng kasikatan nila.

Should we be proud of half-pinoys? My take, depende. If it's the likes of Apl De Ap and Rob Schneider, sure why not. They are proud of their heritage, they always say so, and makikita din yan sa craft nila. If it's the likes of Nicole of PCD or Jessica Sanchez, no we shouldn't. First of all, what they have eh yung tinatawag na individual accomplishment. They did it for themselves, hindi yan para sa Pinas, hindi para sa mga kababayan nila. Just because a person has a trace of Filipino blood in his veins, doesn't mean he is proud of his heritage. So the same goes for us, hindi porket may nakita tayong tao na may kapiranggot na dugong pinoy and made it internationally eh dapat na nating ipagmalaki, because honestly, it just shows that we are too desperate for recognition.

By genetic accident lang pagiging pilipino nya.

Mabuti sana kung yung attitude natin towards the achievement of a few pinoy man o me dugo lang, is that "O galing ng taong ito! kakainspire! EEEEEEE! EEEEEEEE! Magtata-t@e na tayo sa kalsada! At ipagmalaki natin na proud to be pinoy tayo! EEEEEEE! EEEEEE!

Much that we want to have an attitude like this, mahihirapan tayo...majority of our kababayan are ill-educated, let's face it...the small amount of pride you can feed them, they will bite it at will....

At the moment, I do not want to take that fake-pride from them, kasi because of the current situation of our society now...pero hopefully, time will come that more of our citizen will become better educated, like many of the posters here... and eventually that pinoy's fake-pride will face its natural death.

Sorry I can't help it. What a stupid and ignorant comment made by this congressman. What homecourt? Jessica Sanchez's hometown is San Diego. And San Diego is in California where Los Angeles, which hosted the final, is also located? And this is American Idol for goodness sake so why make such ridiculous statement?

Hence sending a false message na kapag nagtext vote ka sa mga mestisong bangus na housemates ng PBB, you are upholding the pride of your race. Pffft.

You're saying that media before are better than what we have now, pero at that same period, Filipinos went gaga when they told us that Phoebe Cates and Lou Diamond Philips has some Pinoy blood, kahit kakarampot lang... or the wife of Julio Iglesia is Pinay.

Nagkataon lang na wala pang text voting nung araw kaya we cannot do what we are doing now for these half-pinoys.

Media plays a big role pero these media are there for business, kaya kung ano ang kakagatin ng masa, dun sila tataya.

Ang sa akin we should just let this pass-on, kung masaya silang maging proud dun sa mga fake pinoys na yan, let them be..dapat mas pag tuunan natin ng pansin is kung paano natin ma-educate ang mga kabataan natin para naman sana na ang maging next generation natin ay makaangat-angat....Pag nangyari iyan, unti-unti nang mawawala itong pagsamba sa mga fake-pinoys na yan kasi they can be proud of their own self na, instead of borrowing the pride from those fake-pinoys.

No. I wouldn't be proud of them. And I don't believe in being proud of someone just because we have the same race. The thing I'd be proud of is my being raised as Filipino, with the family values I have.

How will you educate them if you will just let it "pass-on" na lang?

No, expecially if they don't acknowledge their being Pinoy. Nagkataon lang na may Pinoy blood sila. No offence to the likes of Jessica kasi may talent naman siya at pinaghirapan niya and she should be proud. I just don't think it's right to think it's a "Pinoy Win".
