    Cool Book recommendations?

Hi, I'm a frosh under the College of Computer Studies.

May I just ask what kinds of books do professors would definitely recommend? Or for the CCS students out there, which books did you use when you are still in your freshmen year? Subjects such as Programming, Filipinohiya, College Algebra, PE, Personal Effectiveness, etc.

I'm thinking about getting an MSA book entitled College Algebra. I am advancing my book purchases so that I can advance study days before the class starts; and it's a great way to spend time during the summer.

Thanks for reading and replying in advance. Hope you can help me, including other frosh.

If you really want to get books, best if you wait until classes start once your professors go through the syllabus and the recommended material. You have enough time, have fun naman this last few weeks of summer! Anyway:

FILKOMU: You won't need a book (unless your professor requires you to get one)
Programming: CS or INSYS? If you are taking COMPRO1 I think there is a book authored by some of the CCS profs, you may or may not need it depending on your professor -- my prof provided pdf copies of the lessons before. I had this supplement book I got for myself, C How to Program by Deitel -- really useful especially when the first Machine Project season came in
PE: depends on the sport/type of PE class you will have. You will NOT need it
Personal Effectiveness: A booklet with all the materials and exercises will be provided
Algebra: Get that book you are eyeing if you think it will help you but seriously, you just have to be diligent in your algebra class to pass/excel. And the library is always there for you to photocopy exercises to practice on.
    Chem: won't need a book.
