    Interweb, LoL!!
they're all from the same people. they realized they can make quick bucks out of organizing these evening markets, so they decided to expand their business.

anyway, yuing sa bale dutung, yung sandwhich nila is awesome.

  3. #3
Nope, I don't think all those night food markets are from the same people. I wouldn't place Banchetto Meralco Ave and Il Mercanti that close (if I were the organizer).

I know Mercato, Distrito are from Anton Diaz and others. Il Mercanti's from the owners of Metrowalk.

It's a good opportunity for small-scale food entrepreneurs to introduce their specialties without worrying too much about space and rent.

Went to Mercato last weekend and I can't analyze if what I saw there was a sign of good times or bad times.

    1. There were lots of people to the point that there are not enough tables and chairs available for them. A lot of the people are eating on the sidewalks or on the hoods of their cars..

    2. The selling area have vendors without any exhaust system in place. Even the barbecue sellers are filling the area with smoke.

    3. There are not enough garbage bins and the staff are too slow to empty the easily filled up garbage bins. The whole place is a center for styrofoam and plastic trash.

    4. I think Mercato is killing the nearby legitimate restaurants who have sanitary and health permits.

^ so dapat sana may mag handle na rin sa sanitation nila, saka sana hindi na lang styro ang gamit pero mga paper plates, para mas friendly.

So, ano ba mas maganda, Il Mercanti or mercato?

    ^ i think mercato.

patay ang il mercanti when i went there, less variation of food at halos puros soshal na carinderia yung pagpipilian.

  12. #12
I didn't notice if these food markets have toilet or washroom facilities.

  13. #13
Il Mercanti is near the comfort rooms sa Metrowalk, you have to pay though.
    Banchetto Meralco Avenue has portalets.

    Mercato also has portalets.

Il Mercanti > Mercato just because there's more space and it's less pretentious.

I have not been to Salcedo, Legapi, Banchetto lately. I don't like Distrito at all--the food and the venue. Yet to try food markets in Centris Walk and Soderno.

Went there this evening and finally tried the Banh Mi. It's actually very good. I love the cilantro on the sandwich. Makes me think of planting my own cilantro plant.

    Rant mode on:

I think the organizers should make it clear to all customers and visitors about the clean as you go policy on the tables. Otherwise, they should hire more busboys to clean up after the customers.

idagdag na ang Distrito sa Makati. every Wed-Fri siya. i heard same people din behind Banchetto ang nasa likod ng Distrito.

medyo naoverwhelmed ako sa mga tao hehe. ang dami ko gusto subukan pero ang hahaba ng pila. in the end, nachos grande ang binili ko for 120 pesos. tsaka buko pandan juice for 35. balik ako dun pag may time uli

i don't think mercato will kill the nearby restos because it is open only at late hours and only 3 days of the week. they don't use styro at mercato, the use of it is actually prohibited. when were you last there? they started prohibiting the use of styro last year pa.

it's biggest problems are: ventilation and seating.
